I wonder how long it will be until more dialogue is mined from the game for M!quisitor and Cullen. I wish there was a save game editor or gender swap in cheatengine, then the romance could be started and gender changed back to male and see what happens.

I can say I've heard of some mixed results when folks did just that in ME2 and ME3.  Sometimes it worked, sometimes folks would try to switch back and end up stuck with a Shepard being called by the wrong gender for the rest of the game.  No amount of re-editing would fix the save files, so that's something to keep in mind.

 

I know, different engines and all of that, but screwing with internal flags such as those can produce some weird results.

Yes! I would so love to see this option in DA:I. Playing as my M!quisitor, I've taken so many pics of Cullen and so wish I could romance him. I mean, there's nothing wrong with Dorian , but I'd love some other options. I'm just not a Qun type of person...

if you really want to romance cullen you can make a female inquisitor, you can make her an aveline-ish type so she can be a he in her own way...that chin

Um...er...okay, how to put this?

 

I can understand that you were trying to be nice as well as sympathetic.  So I'm not giving you a hard time for that, I promise.  However, rolling a character that might have features not typically associated with their gender (in other words, a more "masculine" woman or a more "feminine" guy) is not a good substitution for a LGBT romance.

well i do understand in some extent your concerns but as of now we cant do anything about it
and if a post concerning bioware wont change cullen's prefered romantic stuff is true(i forgot his name)
technically that is the only legit way to romance cullen sorry.. i know how it feels my inquisitress (not the Spirit Mage, she is for cole) also wants to romance Dorian so badly :C

It's not so much the Qun thing (I was really looking forward to Bull in general before hand, probably some lingering desire for James Vega) as it is the bondage/dom-sub elements for me. I'm gray-asexual, so that's pushing way out of my comfort zone. I'm fully supportive of those who are in to that, and I appreciate the multiple negotiation scenes that make things upfront and clear, but that's really not my thing. So it cuts down my options to Dorian or nothing if I want to play as a character who matches my gender and romantic identity. They said they wanted players to have options however they're inclined, but when one of those options has content that the player has objections to, it makes it really difficult to accept that option.

I did make a female quizzy, but only to see the Cullen/F!inquisitor romance and dream how that could've been my M!inquisitor instead.

 

 

But to keep this on topic, I've wondered if there is a way to change gender in Cheat Engine. Or how this audio/fix would be modded into the game. Wish I knew how to do that. :/

OK, so. I think what we have really established is that next game the romances should be:

 

- Ser Barris, gay. (Unless he can be dead after Inquisition? Can he die on screen?) A gay knight in shining armor is long overdue, so let's be as literal as possible.

 

- A female qunari warrior, lesbian. For all the women who are sad that so far all the ladies who are remotely butch are also straight.

 

- Scout Harding, bisexual. Because she responds positively to flirts from Inquisitors of both genders and all races, and because dwarves.

 

- A male dwarf warrior, also bisexual. Because more dwarves. We dwarf-lovers have been waiting for about fifteen years at this point, I think we need a choice of genders. Also more knights in shining armour available to male PCs.

 

- Also a couple of straight people, I guess. I know that there's demand for a female elf who can be romanced by male elves, so we could have one of those plus a straight dude.

 

There. BioWare, I have organised character concepts for you, the rest should be totes easy.
