Then I agree with you. If Cullen had been confirmed as straight (not just implied) then I would not support him being bisexual in a later game.
That being said, as someone who feels that her sexuality is underrepresented, I'm sure that you can understand the difference in representation between orientations. Having Merrill confirmed as bisexual had a greater impact on you because there is less representation for you. Same idea but on a different scale.
I agree that there should be more representation for those in the minority, whether it be race, gender, orientation, etc. I just don't approve of changing a character who was one thing into another. I much prefer that representation come from a character standing on its own merits rather than changing an already existing character to fill in as representation for whatever it was chosen for.
Danaduchy is the person known for digging up ALL the audio files, so I think this is genuine. However, in her Tumblr, she says the Dorian romance has only male Inquisitor vo and Sera and Blackwall only have female Inquisitor vo, so apparently they didn't record all the lines with everyone just in case.
Yeah, Bioware said they stopped doing that after ME2 I believe. ME3 and now DAI only have the VAs record lines that were planned to use since the games are getting bigger so more and more every line of dialogue counts since they can only put so much in.
