There are some questions that it's answer has been itching me.

  1. Why was the Inquisitor at the Temple of Sacred Ashes in the first place ?
  2. Why the Anchor has permanently been attached to the Inquisitor ?
  3. What good has the Inquisitor did to defeat Corypheas, just sent him to the fade and he is undone ???

And about what happened at the end, about Solas and Flemeth epilogue and who is possessing who, there have been lots of debates about this matter that another DLC or expansion might answer it, so no need to ask about that as all answers are just speculations unless I am missing something.

You get an explanation as to why each race/class is there at the character creation screen. The Anchor is permanently attached by accident since Corypheus wanted it instead. The inquisitor destroyed a part of him by defeating the dragon and made him vulnerable. Whether he is gone forever it is unknown, but could be stuck in the fade.

Pretty sure the Inquisitor opened a rift inside Corypheus, no?

The qunari inquisitor is part of a mercenary band hired to provide security as a neutral party. The elf and dwarf inquisitors are there as spies. The human mage is part of the rebellion's delegation, the human warrior or rogue is part of the chantry delegation.

Flemeth and Solas issue was deliberatly left unclear as a cliffhanger.

In my opinion it looks like Mythal (Flemeth) jumps into Solas' body. We know that for that to happen he had to be willing (he's talking about "paying the price).

It's unlear what happens to Fen'Harel if my opinion turns out to be the truth.

Why do I think so? Because there is not a single documented event or even a relation from somebody who did/witness the reverse process - absorbing the essence/soul from someone else killing that someone in the process.

  • Archdemons jump into a different body, and their old body dies.
  • Corypheus jumped to a different body, and his old body died.
  • Flemeth jumps into bodies of her daughters, while her old body dies.

We know nothing about Fen'Harel's ability to absorb the soul of another being, so I doubt that's what happened. Apart from that, Solas/Fen'Harel is clearly not malavolent - and while he did not say the entire truth about his nature, I don't think he would kill Mythal, especially in such a treacherous way - it would go against everything we learned about his character.

1. Depends on character's origin. It is described when you pick the race and class in a short summary.

2. A mistake. The Inquisitor touched the elven orb and something went wrong, attaching the Anchor permanently to his/her hand.

3. Inquisitor opened a rift inside Corypheus body. It's safe to say that it killed him and sucked his dead body into the Fade.

And I assume that there are no clues left in the game telling exactly how this went wrong, just "somehing went wrong" and people have to make their own explanation. Fanatic will more likely say "it is the will of the maker" but no body will really know for sure.

Corypheus was using the Divine's blood to activate the Ord. Just before the OS popped up and Cory could 'log in' the Divine knocked it towards the Inquisitor and he 'logged in' instead.

Corypheus was torn apart, quizzy opened a fade rift inside him. Plus he was already near death.

I saw how the Divine knocked the orb (Anchor) but I never figured out that it has any connection to the anchor being attached to the inquisitor permanently, interesting conclusion though.

Would also suggest that what we witnessed between Flemeth and Solas was a soul merge (a bit like Anders and Justice), where two consciousnesses have agreed to occupy the same body.   As a result both are changed but not completely overwhelmed.   Flemeth makes it clear that she can only take over a willing person and therefore if she ever did jump into any of her previous daughters, it was with their approval.   I doubt Flemeth really needed his body alone.   What they have agreed to is a merger of spirits, the resulting being having greater power as a result than the individuals had on their own.    It could even be that you end up with a dual personality with either one or the other in control depending on the situation.     Again think of the situation with Anders/Justice or the Spirit of the Forest/Witherfang or even Wynne and her companion spirit.

When Cory jumps into a grey warden body it is only nominally with their approval since he already controls their mind through the taint.    I would suggest that means that nothing remains of the original person who he occupies.   This was also true of the archdemon jump.    Into a soulless being, no adverse result.    Into a fully functioning (mentally) grey warden, both destroyed.   Into a foetus that has no will to resist, okay.    The reason demons possessing mages (or anyone else) results in an abomination is because it is done against the will of the person involved.     The reason Connor was okay was that he originally agreed to the possession and then the demon willingly agreed to leave. (I'm talking DAO here).
