I can actually get behind some moderation. I've seen some sick stuff on the web that should be moderated and removed but it still somehow manages to remain because of "freedom of expression" even though it's really hate speech that would get someone put in prison or fined IRL.
One thing's for sure, it's anonymity that allows for this level of abuse online. Thankfully, laws are finally coming into place where making threats and abusing people online can get you jail time.

Moderation is fine. An internet dictatorship is a bit iffy of a solution to the problems prevalent on the net.

The rules would have to be pretty clear on what abuse is. If Leo was genuinely hurt by this thread, for example, then would the people who ganged up on him face legal consequences?

That's how it's always worked for me. I can't really explain the process right now as I'm really tired. To be honest I'm not very good at explaining how my mind state works, I'm better at showing you in real life what it really is all about. Sorry, I'm a bit tired, It's 4 A.M. in here. For your benefit I'll explain what Leo's idea is.
This might help with understanding why people have trouble accepting it.
In order to use the internet you must pass an examination where a team of psychologists will assess your personality.
If your personality is fit from their point of view then you can use the internet. If not you can't use the internet.
Also if you misbehave on the internet upon obtaining the licence, it can be revoked.
As for a society where only pretty people are allowed on the internet, this is a joke proposed by OneWomanArmy and KingTony to mock Leo's idea. I guess this thread has gotten ugly
