I know regions would be helpful.  They are a bit too nebulous at the moment in my opinion.  If there was even a slightly better way to map them than literally walking off each one and marking it on the map, I'd do it, but as they currently stand that's a little too ambitious even for me.  If someone was able to sort out a way to add more persistent map markers to the map, that would make it easier.  It would still be a pain in the a*s, but not nearly as bad as it is now.  At least then you could walk it off and make as many reference points as you needed on the Quest map to define a "region".  It wouldn't be perfect, but it would help everyone out that is one region shy in a given zone.

Is it possible, that the resarch is bugged?

Some creature do not left research materila (eg. Nugs) and some creatures leave material, but if you gave it to the research table it do not count for the code entry (eg. Red Templar Horror)

 

Or is this only a problem of mine?

I think you stop getting credit for creature research items after you've received the damage bonus a certain number of times?

No. I mean, some creatures never leave material. And some creatures like the Horror, leave material, but you don't get any change in the codex entry.

Please not that Freed Are Slaves is  bugged. The mosiac set is missing one piece even though the counter will show 12/12. No codex entry for this piece will be available.

I completed this Mosaic in my last playthrough and received the codex entry for it.

I must have totally missed this reply originally.  

 

The collection for Freed Are Slaves is not bugged.  There are videos that cover collecting all 12 pieces.  

 

What IS bugged is the Mosaic on the wall inside Skyhold keep.  Even though you collect all 12 pieces, it will currently look as if you only have 11 of 12 hanging on the wall.  

 

The collection WILL complete accurately, it's just a display issue with the mosaic hanging on the wall in the keep.

 

The collection that WILL NOT complete accurate and IS bugged is The Fall.  There is a piece missing from the collection because it is buried inside a wall.  This is why there are only videos covering 11 of the 12 pieces.

Unfortunately, I don't even have enough space to provide the link to the Prima Guide maps, so I guess I won't be doing that even though they're a wonderful resource. However, since Regions aren't on the maps and Landmarks have map markers, both for claimed and unclaimed, it's not too big a loss.

 

As for the creature research, I do believe there is a thread going around somewhere here with more questions (and maybe answers). I do know that there are some creatures who do not drop research items and some who drop both specific items and more generic items that don't go directly to their own codex entry, but rather to a group entry (like the Red Templars or Darkspawn). However, I am by no means an expert.

Not sure how it happened, but the Andrastian Chantry Banner Crown (Topper) was left out of the listing in my initial post.  The first video talks about how to get it, but the forum post just didn't list it out separately.  Sorry about that.  It's been updated.

Damn boys and girls, watch yourselves on the IGN forums.  I was in the process of putting this info out on the Dragon Age IGN forums last night, got about half way through and went to bed, figured I'd finish it tonight.  Went back to find that the forum moderator, took all of the posts and stuck them under one heading that was relevant to only one of about 8 posts, then made it so none of the posts could be edited....  

 

The lesson here is that IGN likes to have a completely inactive forum with completely random and useless content... and their board admins have a bit of a fascist streak in them.

 

I'm greatful Bioware's moderators aren't like that.

... and if you're really looking for farm for those seeds your best best is going to be the Western Approach, IMO.  Deathroot is EVERYWHERE out there.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before... But:

 

1. How do you get the templar/mage banners and banner crowns? I mean depending on who you side with, how do you get the "opposing faction" banner? I sided with mages, I'm really interested on how to get the templar banner and crown.

 

2. I'm pretty sure I'm missing the Inquisition Banner Crown. After a very tedious check on all banners. It says in the guide here "Capture all 3 keeps". Well I did that ages ago. What? How?

You can only get the mage OR the templar banner.  You can get the opposing crown by building the opposing tower in Skyhold.  So if you sided with the Templars you could build the Circle Tower, but that would mean you couldn't get the Templar Banner Crown.

 

As for the Inquisition Banner Crown... it's a known bug.  You're one of MANY with the same problem.

I was just watching a video and realised I'm missing the Andrastian crown too   And that's gone since I went with the simple garden for rp reasons. Now that's irritating. You have a "choice" but you must choose one or you can't finish certain aspects of the game... Sigh

Actually now that I'm doing the math a bit I'm missing 5 and I have 18/22 lol... which means I have one of the dwarven duplicates but not both... gah! LOL

I found it just above the rise behind the eastern ramparts in the Exalted Plains while I was looking for the last soldier's letter for the quest "Left to Grieve". I have overlayed the map for a more accurate location.

It's bugged and doesn't activate.

 

However, that shouldn't be a problem as there are more than enough of those artifacts to activate to unlock Solas's quest. If you need help with any of those locations, I have a helpful link in my signature.

I couldn't make any additions to the original post at all, so I just made a Take 2. Now we have space in case future updates give us more things to collect.
