Once you have all the shards to unlock everything you are already so powerful that the rewards become pointless.
But I could say the same thing about all the trashloot that you get during the game.

Random demon?
This is the demon that was imprisoned there, it was the whole point of the Temple.
And just as a side note, this is the most powerful Pride Demon in the game (It's an Elite and scales at least to level 23 - highest of all).
I had a different take on what was imprisoned here. Let's just leave it at, I suspect Solas's translation is intentionally incomplete. I could end up being compeltely wrong on that, but it is just my gut instinct.
Side note, I wonder what the heck Cory was hoping to find there. Part of me almost wonders if he did manage to find it, but my current train of thought would mess up the timeline, specifically the event that made it possible to find the shards.

Problem is they could have made amazing accessories as we cannot craft them, but they made the most unimaginative accessories to be ever seen.

It was actually more than worth it - if you farm.
If you don't farm it is not.

You have collected all the shards that you know of. There are enough shards to open everything, so it's likely that you have missed one of those skull thingies. The last one I found was in the first arena with the dragon. It was kind of a pain.

The Temple Of Pride
Head to the Forbidden Oasis. You can see the temple entrance but can’t access it yet. You will need 6 shards in order to open the door. Inside the temple you will need more shards to open the doors:
The Fire Captured
The Cold Endured
The Spirit Calmed
The last door with lightning resistance is on the main level. It opens automatically after you have opened the first three in the lower level. It has only one room.
The first doors takes 6 shards. The Next doors takes 12 and the last doors 18 shards. Means you need 36 shards for each elemental room.
First room:
7% Resist Belt (+ some rune essence and junk)
Second room:
15% Resist Belt (+ some rune essence and junk)
Third room:
30% Resist Belt (+ some rune essence and junk)
In each room there is a coffin. When you open and loot them completely they give you:
First coffin: 4 resistance points
Second coffin: 6 resistance points
Third coffin: 10 resistance points
If you chose to farm items instead the coffins will not give you any resistance point. It is only when you EMPTY them! So, chose carefully what you want most.
You end up with +20% fire, cold, spirit and electrical resistance when all doors are opened and all coffins looted entirely.
If you chose to farm you can get Pure essence of Frost, Fire, Spirit and Lightning every time you reload the map (revisit) + 1 unique resistance belt.
I have 4 of each in my inventory. If I have a quest that requires protection against one of these elements I just equip them on my entire team. I could f.x. be dragons.
When I have reached the third chamber i loot everything in the first two rooms and receive the resistance points. I don't loot the third and last coffin entirely. I use this for farming belts and pure essences.

I just did the shards for the first time--well almost. still need to open a few doors. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and the forbidden oasis. It was a really nice change of pace and, for me, really enjoyable. Protip--do as much of it as possible before starting chapter 2, especially the shards at the forbidden oasis. There are no enemies there then except for a few critters so you can take your time with the puzzle aspect of it. Then it's more fun and less annoying than with constant fighting while you try to do it.

I dunno, I'm at the last door in each section and about to close the breach. +10 resistance to cold fire and spirit is no small thing at level 10-11. I also made a lot of money in loot.

So the "lore reward" for completing the temple is in the spoiler block below. Sadly this isn't added to the Codex as far as I can tell so it took me forever and a day to find it. Also I think you need to have Solas in the party for it to pop.

So the Prima guide says that it's best to do the fire resist chambers first because the first dragon you fight in the Hinterlands breathes fire.
What would be the best order to do the other resists by dragon level? Thanks!

Well, I'd go lightning and then frost.

Spoiler
If you're an elven Inquisitor (because why would you not? Srsly, elven mage Inquisitor just feels like the canon choice for how different it makes the game feel from slummin' about as a humie), you don't need Solas no how because you can read elven just fine, thank you very much.

Most modern Greeks cannot read Linear B. Most modern Iranians cannot read Old Iranian. Languages change a lot with the passage of millennia.
The likelihood that the elven carvings are in the same language as a modern Dalish elf would know is infinitesimally small. Solas, by comparison, has experience with ancient elven history and artifacts; he is a period expert and is much more likely to be of help. Random Italians wandering into archaeological digs in Rome don't get to translate the inscriptions; classical epigraphical scholars do. The Inquisitor is of the former class, and Solas is the latter.

+ Amulette of Power for the inquisitor
ça vaut le coup...

I was expecting a demon like Ishmael or his ilk, one with implications to the lore. That's what I meant by random. Not like 'OHEMGEE I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY PUT A DEMONIC POTATO IN THERE.'

If you don't have Solas in your party when you finish the all doors in the Oasis Temple the text keeps popping up when you travel with Solas to the Emerald Graves or The Forbidden Oasis.
This has happen to me in two playthroughs. I wonder if I missed something in the temple? Something hidden?

Yeah that temple is literally a gold mine. Also, I feel the same. I hate going there without collecting everything everywhere else first.

I'm doing it because i'm a completionist, so exploration + collecting + achievement is ok by me... For 1 playthrough. Won't be touching these at all for my next ones.
