Hello All

I am a writer with a fair bit of film (including one produced feature film) and TV experience in the UK. I'm a long-time fan of the Bioware RPGs and I am keen to get involved on the writing side in a cool module project for Dragon Age, with a more experienced team of designers.

My aspiration: I would love to contribute to an original module with an established team which has a clear overall vision, direction and schedule. I'm happy to consider anything from one-off quest/subquest writing within a larger project, to dialogue polishes on modules that are near completion, to storylining the larger narrative and character arcs at the concept stage. Tonally my ideal project would be something dark, which pushes the creative level a little further than the OC, in gameplay, user experience and story (as Twilight/Midnight did for NWN2). I am totally open to writing around full-on adult themes. (I felt the romance levels in the OC were a little 'high school'.) Happy to go NC-17...!

My favourite RPGs / quests: Baldur's Gate 2, IWD 1 & 2, Planescape Torment, Twilight/Midnight, the old Tunnels and Trolls solos (especially City of Terrors and any that had raunchy bits), Temple of Elemental Evil (tabletop - though the PC game wasn't bad), Morrowind, G1-2-3, D1-2 and Q1.

My technical experience: I have doodled with various module ideas in the
NWN and NWN2 toolsets (without ever managing to publish one), and I did
build up some familiarity with the dialogue and scripting systems. But I absolutely do not claim to be an expert in any version of the toolset, and may require some handholding in terms of inputting lines of dialogue into the correct form with the correct quest triggers/faction adjustments etc. I do however totally understand how it all works on a conceptual level.

My availability: I can contribute 2-4 hours a week, with any luck fairly regularly, and am happy with any timezone, working over email or Skype or whatever. If I am supplying quests/storylines/dialogue trees in Word I can get a lot done, quickly. If I am working directly with the toolset (which I am happy to have a go at again) then I will need some time to get up to speed - unless I was supplied with module builds with placeholders for dialogue/NPC/item descriptions, in which case I would be able to respond more rapidly.

I may also be able to help with recording/directing NPC voices - I know a lot of actors here in the UK/Scotland who would love a bit of gaming voiceover work for their portfolios (especially if you are looking for a Scottish/Celtic flavour for your voice) and may be able to cook something up on that front. Authentic Scottish Gaelic spell incantations, anyone?

If you think I could fit in please email me on robbie AT fraservision.net, and I'll be happy to tell you more about me and show you some of my work. Look forward to hearing from you !!!

All the best

Robbie
