How many people would play this?
I love dragon age, and I'm thoroughly enjoying DA Inquisition atm (The feels, they're killing me!). However I got the idea on one of the load screens talking about the Great Game. How many people would play a game made by or similar to the Telltale games style? I think it'd be a nice change, the fighting and epic storytelling of dragon age is fantastic, but i'd love to just play a small bit as an orlesian noble and ****** my way to the top ![]()

I'd love to play a DA Telltale game whose main theme is either Dwarven or Orlesian politics. Tevinter's Magisters provide an interesting backbone, too!

Would play but this won't happen unless TT gets swallowed by EA.

I rather not, unlike the other game franchises that TellTale has worked on the story is a very important part of Dragon Age and I really don't want them poking around and possibly messing around with how BioWare would want to continue their games.

Are you saying story is not a very important part of A Song of Ice and Fire?

As much as people don't want to recognise it, Telltale is much better at narrative than Bioware. Everything is crisp, there's no filler, they have humour but they can also do drama without it feeling cheesy. Their version of The Walking Dead was by far the best incarnation. I'd LOVE to see their take on DA.

Of course there isn't any filler. It's because its only the story because there isn't any combat.
Also people don't 'recognise it' because Telltale's superiority in narrative is subjective; like how good you think your hair is, when I believe it looks horrible. We are both right because it's about perspective. Because YOU think it's better doesn't mean people that don't think so are in denial and sit in the corner rocking back and forth going "BioWare is better than Telltale"

When was the last time Bioware was praised for their narrative. And remember, stellar "banter" doesn't count.

No, what I think is it could lead to more complications to future games. Like I believe if they go too far ahead in the TV series it could cause the books to not cover some areas that Martin might have been wanting too since they were done in a way he didn't expect.

Martin's assistant is overseeing the process. It's all being monitored closely. Problems only occur when things descend into a free-for-all like with LucasArts.

A Dragon Age Telltale gamewhere you play as Duncan
I would pay real human money for that.

Wooden characters, 10 hours of visual novel mixed with cringeworthy QTEs gameplay for a price of a full game.
The only thing they can do is to take well known, established IP and make VN out of it (very poor, IMO) . I doubt DA is established enough for them to try.
Me, I wouldn't even pirate it. Waste of transfer.

20 odd bucks is the price of a full game, is it?
You say "visual novel" as if it's a bad thing. A visual novel is merely a specific type of interactive storytelling, people who like interactive storytelling will like the stuff Telltale puts out, people who don't can go and buy a proper game.
Regarding their writing, Telltale writes better than Robert Kirkman can ever dream of. They write some damn good stuff. In comparison Kirkman's stuff is full of cringeworthy drama sequences and contrived plots.

Again this? Wasn't there a Tell-Tale-Dragon-Age thread last week already? Still not really interested. I'd rather take anothr game the scope and style (the good parts) of DA2 ...

In the hypothetical situation where a Telltale/ BioWare collaboration took place BioWare would have to approve of the story and ensured it fit their plans.I rather not, unlike the other game franchises that TellTale has worked on the story is a very important part of Dragon Age and I really don't want them poking around and possibly messing around with how BioWare would want to continue their games.

20 is price for a full game, yes. For non AAA game. Go look for Dead State on steam (25), This war of Mine(I think it is 15 now). Both games with at least double plytrhrough time, and replayability - something that in TT games is not present.
I have nothing against VN games because I play them now and then, but I can't even think of me playing through that horrendous QTE fest, and that what Telltale games are all about. And 22€ for 10 hours long visual novel with 0 re-playability is too much.
As for their writing. All I can say I don't care that much about story, plots etc. I don't judge it. But their characters feels very shallow and plastic, for me OFC.

Haven't tried Inquisition yet, but I really liked Bioware's writing in the Baldur's Gate series, Neverwinter Nights, KoTOR, Mass Effect series and Dragon Age Origins and DA2 - I'm sure they could make a very very good TellTale-style game ![]()
