Have to say I wasn't planning on picking up DA:I but thank god I did. The game is simply amazing, despite small minor bugs it was well worth my purchase and already 100 plus hours in.

Now I am planning on starting a new game on nightmare difficulty and wasn't sure what characters, classes and builds I am going to use so I need your help!1!

I am thinking of going 2 mages,, myself and perhaps solas or vivenne (for KE), one tank (black well or Cassandra with shield or 2h?) and a rogue such as sera?

If this a good combination? What do you think I should do etc. Now what skill trees should these characters specialise in? I am thinking myself having just barrier and straight fire or lightening and the other mage just all the protection tree with dispel etc with KE.

For the tank build should I go 2h or Shield and 1h with focus on vanguard? and what of the fourth person? I am thinking of sera with the focus on suber fuge....... but I used her on normal and she was very weak.

I need help guys, thanks

The game is pretty easy on Nightmare, as long as you invest into crafting, always having the best schematics and materials you can have at that particular point in the game. Well, apparently you've already finished the game once, so I guess you have a clear idea on how crafting works.
Tank-wise go Weapon and Shield. You can experiment with 2-Handed, but not right away. Later in the game you can basically do whatever you want, even run a Warrior-less party, but for the beginning you need a Weapon and Shield Tank.
Sera is far from weak, she is arguably the strongest companion damage-wise, but you need to give her the best Bow and equipment you can possibly give. That is why crafting is so important.

Since you will be playing a Mage, a very strong combination early on the game is to use Static Cage and cast a Fire Mine inside it (you can use two mages as well, one for each spell). You will trivialize quite a few of the pre-Skyhold fights with this combo.
Terrors are the worst enemies in my opinion. A good way to deal with them is by having Fade Step, which gives you excellent mobility.

Rogue (especially archer)/tank/mage/mage is pretty much the safest party setup. Have solas support (barrier, revival, set up combos with CC), take blackwall to tank (go full vanguard/champion and he will never die). Spec your Inquisitor mage for full DPS (probably fire + KE? Rift is kinda weak damage wise, and Necromancer is underpowered/buggy). Here are some builds I'm using (just finished game on Nightmare):

Solas

Blackwall

And like Spacevegan said, gear is a very big deal. Make sure to craft stuff to constantly upgrade your gear.

I either do Double Mage, or SnS with Cassandra and I being Templars. Works especially well if you Exploit Wrath of Heaven+Spell Purge. Works like a charm on everything that can be stunned.

Otherwise, I've been able to close 2-3 rifts during their second summoning phase by dispelling all their demons before they pop up. I'm currently coasting through, and only thing that's really messed me up, is the dragons. But Me and Cassandra were able to stay up and kill it.
