Well implicating me in the murder of a noble I know nothing about my first time in VR trying to gain support isn't the first impression I would look to make.

To be totally fair the noble was trying to burn your face off with fireballs before she killed him.

The fact that he did try to kill the Inquisitor first kind of makes this a non-issue. This is why you don't monologue, for the same reason Hawke gladly pushed Duke Prosper's Orlesian ass off a cliff. Implications in some random well-dressed dirtbag's murder isn't much to be concerned about, especially after realizing that the Chantry in Val Royeaux is even more toothless than we realized after Lord Seeker's demon-y stunt double sucker punched that woman in front of the entire square.

I find it weird that some people use that as evidence of how Sera is some kinda evil person even tho its obvious the guy she killed wasn't a very nice person (especially with the automatic fireball to the face the second he see's the PC)

I think people will go to the ends of the earth to defend sera, I'm not attacking her, I'm not obligated to like her or recruit her at all so it's a non-issue to me. You guys are way off topic here just in the spirit of defending a video game character.

The topic here is sera's romance being "abusive". I wouldn't call it that, emotional blackmail at best. Me thinking she's immature and explaining why I think she acts this way only shows that there are warning signs in abundance pointing to this romance being challenging.

Ikr he even talked about how he was trying to destroy the Inquisition.

What Sera demands is selfish, childish and inconsiderate among many other things but it's not even close to absue!! How can you seriosuly even consider this absue!?

Quite easily.

Sera is asking a Dalish Elf to renounce her entire culture so they can contiue their relationship. Now lets think about this for a second, to the Dalish their belief system is everything to them, it is not only their beliefs, it is their identity. Without their beliefs they are nothing more than city elves.

Sera isn't asking an elf inquisitor to just give up her beliefs, she is asking the inquisitor to give up her entire identity or else she's leaving her. Could you imagine for a second being deeply in love with someone and then that person asks you to give up who you are or else they'll leave you? It's a form of emotional abuse, it's creating an unfair ultimatum and placing emotional distress on a loved one for no good reason.

Hawke didn't push the Duke off a cliff, he simply "fell from grace"

Depending on how your Quizy feels towards the subject mine was as close to an athiest i could get. Sera is more Antithiest.

because my quizy was raised a Dalish dose not meah she was required to fallow it whithout question or else.

Sera is allowed to have wants and needs in a relationship like everyone else. I don't really find it abusive if she's not forcing the issue, you have a choice. Yes, I think it's unfortunate and I will never romance Sera with an elf because of this, but I respect her feelings on it. If she doesn't want that, fine, but I won't change for her either. And nobody dies! We both move on. ...But then using Bull's romance as a comparison and calling it abusive? When that scene you bring up happens, there's not even a relationship happening yet. No moves are even made, you can say no and nothing happens at all. All he does is decide to bring up that he thinks you've been flirting with him. I get your initial point, but I hate when people start attacking other things to further prove something, it always comes off with a bad taste to me.

Yeah, but if you're a full on elven believer, you're gonna have a bad time XD

If my Inquisitor was a Dalish elf, Sera's romance would either not be pursued or broken off after the Mythal thing, because it seems more fitting for that character and for the story, whereas my human Inquisitor doesn't give a crap about creators or makers or whatever else so it doesn't make a difference.

Tbh, i don't know why a Dalish Inq would continue to believe their culture as fact after the temple, is just being stubborn IMO

This is true, it's just that as I go down the line of characters in order of priority, the way the character behaves towards companions gets progressively worse. It was a toss-up between whether it was the dwarf commoner or the city elf that would be the total a-hole extraordinaire in DA:O, and the CE won by an ear length.

After reading this , it just hit me Sera is what most people see tumblr users. never really thought of it that way.

Also if your partner asks you to choose on something as big as religion etc , they don't view you as equal more like something they need to own or they are so needy as to require your attention/thoughts 24/7.Had a gf that asked me to choose between her and my childhood friends (they didn't like each other) i choose my friends who never asked me that question, sounds cliche but ye what can you do.

Knowing damn well how she feels about dalish culture I would say it's just as much on the quizzy as it is sera. This conversation is borderline dumbest thing I've read on here. Calling it abusive and then faulting her for her religious beliefs is ridiculous. People fall for people they know they shouldn't all the time.

Your inquisitor wasn't the one to break off the relationship if Sera didn't choose elven gods though was she.

Because nothing at the Temple of Mythal invalidates the Dalish way of life to govern themselves, view magic as a gift, discover more about their past, and try to maintain as much of their culture as they can?

Yep.  Its technical name is "emotional blackmail" and people who do it should be beaten to death with a frozen leg of lamb.

I keep going back and forth on whether I hate Sera or Vivienne more.  Corypheus?  He doesn't even rate next to those two scumbags.

See I'm not sure why that's not there for everyone though. As it is if you dare recruit most people you have to wait til you completely ****** them off for them to leave.

I think its because they knew sera would ****** people off lol
