She does seem to have a mental condition or two, really. But she has street-smarts too.

The only mental condition I can see her having is Bipolar disorder.

But I agree with most in this thread she may not be physically abusive but she is indeed verbally abusive. But that is all part of what makes Sera Sera after all. The way I'm playing it is on my Lady Trev as soon as she beats the noble to death she is out and on my elf as soon as Mythal Temple happens she is out and My Male Trev will end up not recruiting her at all idk yet.

I think she fits more with severe ADHD not bipolar if anything.

So, you actually want her to kill the noble? XD

True, but the way she goes through her emotions all in one sitting screams BP to me, my aunt does the same thing and she's diagnosed Bipolar.

Oh heavens no, I wanted all the info I could get before making my decision, then after the 3rd question she goes all "Inglorious Bastards" on him, kinda ticked my Lady Trev off lol.

It was news to me when I first read here that she'd kill the guy without your say so, but I guess it pays to get right down to business immediately. I either just give a nod or requisition his title and territory, the latter of which is my preferred ending.

Still, the fact that she does this is just hilarious to me.

To clarify, what's hilarious to me is that Sera takes this decision out of the player's hands if you delay with more questions, which, aside from adding a nice dose of irk to the forum, is exceptionally rare for companions, and may never come again. I'm largely indifferent to the beating to death part, mainly because my inventory is loaded with goodies snatched off of many more corpses fresh-squeezed by Inky. I'm just disappointed that there wasn't a sizable sum of gold on him or something.

Now a hilarious death is tossing the murder knife at the slaver in DA2, mainly because of Feynriel's reaction afterward. This new guy's just a putz.

It's not that she killed him it's the way she did it. You tell her to stop stomping on him and she is so into it she doesn't hear you and keeps wailing on him until you literally have to scream at her. It is very unsettling.

I was sort of amused when my Inquisitor tells her that she's making wine.

I think so too. This forum's way too serious. Makes me want to push a mercenary out a window of a really tall building.

True that does make Sera more unique in terms of sanity, but senseless slaughter is still senseless. You don't actually see anything her "people" do for you whereas that noble could have provided alot more in terms of troops, gold, influence etc...where as all Sera's people provide are targets for whoever "keeps them down". As a leader of a military organization it's good to be on good terms with both nobility and the non-nobles.

Even if they didn't put in a major impact to her choice, what if they did? What if her beating this guy to death turned half of the nobles paying for your armies against you? This noble could have provided military trained troops, gold and scout reports, whereas Sera's "people" only provide intel on what nobles are doing what to certain slaves and low class people.

As leader of the inquisition I'm not worried about if slave #1 from some noble hundreds of miles away is getting whipped because he dropped some cheese, I'd be more worried about "Okay this Noble's lands are between me and the enemy, do I want to anger him and have him let my enemy march through his lands or do I want to play nice so I have a buffer between me and my enemy?"

Personally unless Sera's "people" are all combat trained super spies providing real intel I'd much rather prefer working with a noble who can actually provide my armies with the things I need, instead of making sure some random person is getting their "revenge" on a guy that made him a "wiper".

He just killed a commoner whom he told he would kill if he didn't help him then when the commoner helped him he killed him anyways just for shits and giggles. He was an evil man and I do not blame Sera for being pissed at him. I get mad everytime a rich ahole gets away with serious crimes just because they have money and influense. My favorite out come of Seras quest is to let the noble live by taking the noble knowledge perk check he gets punished and I get stuff (not actual in game stuff but its implied you get stuff so I'm guessing I got stuff.) and Seras happy.

"Street smarts" is what they call it when a knucklebleeder knows that the shell game is rigged.  Beyond unimpressed.

That was one of the few parts of DA2 worth seeing.

Feynriel: "What if you were wrong?"

Hawke: (confused) "I'm never wrong."

As for everyone barking out mental disorders, she certainly seems to have something wrong with her... but on the other hand, this is the same forum that diagnosed Shepard with post-traumatic stress disorder, so I'm just gonna walk away while shaking my head.

In fairness, it was either PTSD or indoctrination, and we all know how the latter turns out.

There is a noble knowledge check, when does that show up? I had the perks but never go the option every time I got to 3 questions he dies, I'm a new playthrough so I'll see if I can get that outcome cause then that would be alot better than her beating him to death.

I didn't mean anything in terms of sanity, simply that this is the first companion we've ever gotten that's granted the agency to actively hijack a sequence of dialogue. I kinda hope this is something other companions can do in the future to some degree. Whether it be violent or not is not really important. I just like that these characters are not entirely passive during all sequences of dialogue.

Now, this would be interesting. However, his people, whoever they are, do attack first, after killing some poor schmuck he used as bait. Since the guy decided to set the whole thing up in some secluded area, that kind of works against the whole other nobles finding out thing. It's not like there's a CSI: Thedas out there able to do some crazy forensic magic to determine whose dagger, or in this case, knee pad, did the slaying. I'd be curious how this would potentially have an impact beyond the writers simply having tons of people divine this event via game logic.

In any case, the top left option (provided you have the nobility perk) allows you to bypass this and take over his land and title and he basically works for you now. The guy takes it pretty well, since he was convinced that he was going to die otherwise.

Yep I got one on the upper right it showed up after I asked one of the questions if I remeber correctly or it was there from the start, my quizzy said something like "I own you now or do you want to risk getting killed?" And hes like "I suppose not." And seras goes "Hahahahah oh yeah in your face." But with more words and less derp.

I really like the nobility perk option. I don't think I remember it word for word (since people seem to love uploading the death one), but I'm pretty sure the Inquisitor says something to the effect of

Inquisitor: Becoming your partner gets me your enemies. I need the territory.

Sera: What are you doing! He's half the trouble in Verchiel!

Inquisitor: Yes, and his job is now recruiting the other. [to Harmond] Consider your titles and lands requisitioned.

Harmond: Surprising...and disappointing, but welcome, considering the alternative.

Sera: Ahah! Won't be hearing from you again.

Harmond: I hope you return the favor.

Sera: [razzes]

Yeah well I remeber something about my quizzy asking if he thinks the alternative is better or something like that, I might have been dreaming though since it was 4am when I did it. Its a shame only my noble quizzys gets that perk since I think its unlikley for any of my elven quizzys to have it. I might get it for my qunari or my dwarf but I don't know yet must have a rp reason for it.
