I see it as something that could happen irl. You start with a casual relationship where it's not as important, but as things get serious it becomes an issue.

Sera is just a very violent person. So that romance is going to be abusive at some point because Sera can't control her violent impulses/angry outbursts.
Sure the cookie making thing was kinda sweet and awkward and silly, but you know that eventually Sera's going to do something really bad to the Inquisitor that she quickly regrets which will either kill or severely wound the Inquisitor. And I feel like this won't be the first time something like this happened to someone she was involved with.
