In DA2. Here just hairy chest. Bioware is socially sensitive and responsible. Issues of same, and other, sex relationships appears to be more important than intellectual honesty.
$400 on large chests.

Do not listen to it. If you pirated the game you'd be shamed. If you pay extra you are shamed. The important thing is not to stick out.

Wish I understood why some of you get really upset and think bad of me because i spend money on a game I enjoy. I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. It's not like I spend my whole salary on it, it's barely noticeable. But even if I would, who are you to judge?

No surprise. I saw posts just like this when Mass Effect 3 multiplayer was new.
Random is random. You could spend $5 and get something, or it could take thousands. That's why it's a waste of money. Just like gambling at a Casino. If the odds were even remotely favorable they wouldn't exist. They exist because they get lots of money from suckers.

In casino there is 50/50 chance, for example, for red or black. Other chances - probabilities - can be established in similar way and while there is "no system" to guarantee winning the rules are transparent. Even lottery is transparent, its possible to work out probabilities of winning. Here, however, RNG is RNG ignorant mantra prevails. You have a chance for "rare" nowhere does it says what "rare" is and nowhere does it say what the "chance" is. Its complete scam. Like the guy selling 10000 gold bag in-game. Casinos are not socially responsible and sensitive.
edit: btw such system - RNG - adds exactly **** all to the core game mechanics and enjoyment from the game.

Regardless of how much money you earn, if you spend it all you don't have ****. Millionaires don't become millionaires by spending their paychecks.
If you have a million dollars, 400 bucks is 0.04% of your total. If you bought this game at full price, you would need to have 150k to get the same fraction of wealth.
400 bucks is nothing to some people. Lets say you have 2500 dollars (which i imagine a lot of people have). 0.04% of that is 1 dollar. How much is that to someone holding 2.5k? Absolutely nothing. They could lose that 5 times a week and never care. The same applies here.

When people are ready to start going to work for the OP and paying their bills, then you can start dictating and judging how they use their money.

I feel the discussion wether it's an issue spending $400 or $0 on a video game is pointless. As most people can agree, however stupid you think it is doing so - it is all up to the person spending his or her money. I think the discussion should be how microtransactions are implemented in this game, and are they any good for gaming and games in general, and are they something that gamers actually want in their games?
No? Ok.

Does this really surprise you people? You think these game models exists so that a few people in a hundred spend 10 dollars and that will be enough for the development + profits?
There are PLENTY of people who spend this kind of money, and even more, and the why is simple: they can afford it. RNG is like gambling, which can be something addictive, trust me, I work at a Casino. This is what happens when money is available and our ludopathy kicks in.
I will say I am surprised by the results though, I haven't reached 200k money and I have quite a bunch of purple items, including a Caliban and the Griffon Bow.

160 chests or 192k gold. If you earn 3k gold per hour, that's 64 hours.

Well If Dragon age 4 is multiplayer oriented pay to win, but chests for extra roleplay scenarios, because Bioware and Ea made a lot of that sort of money on inquisition, then we know who to blame ![]()

Thank you Veramis, that's roughly what I have played and earned, a little more even. While RNG is RNG, on a large scale it usually produces similar results. I guess in this game it's quite wild and I've been either very lucky or OP very unlucky.

Arouns 160-170, I guess. I've bought around 550 chests now.
The best things I've got so far:
Punched by the maker (unique bow)
Superb cooldown amulet (15% cd modifier)
Superb ring of life-drain (10% heal on kill)
Superb ring of attack (+10% attack)
And some other unique weapons below level 20.
Not to mention how many superb runes I have, thinkin about salvaging most of them...

I remember spending hundreds of dollars to max out my manifest in ME3MP, and I spent over $100 just trying to get the Krolord.
Disposable income is just that - disposable; whether for a $8000 warm weather winter family vacation, a $700 dinner with friends, a $100K automobile, or a $400 "donation" to the Random Number Generator gods of Bioware.
$400 is a small amount of money when you compare it to the hundreds of hours you can play a good MP game. I've played almost 2000 hours of ME3MP (http://social.biowar...bin&platform=pc) , and still play ME3MP today with family members who reside in other states across the country with headsets/conversations running. Even if I spent a $1000 on the ME3 game, it was/is a cheap form of rich entertainment.
In solidarity to moyes_1314 I am going to spend $400 on chests.
I need a Superb Ring of Life so badly, really I do. I can only play solo MP when I'm at home due to the confines of Exede satellite ISP, and it is tough to stay healthy when you're "it" all the time.

No, he's just a pimp. Yeah, they call it a "Merchant's Guild", but we all know what wares they are really selling...
It is even worse when you put on that Inquisitor's Hat on him... All he needs is a cane.

It's like the lottery: you spend lots of cash to probably get nothing back, chasing the dream that you'll win big.
But instead of winning a few million dollars and having a cushy REAL LIFE, you win something virtual. In a game. That you will doubtlessly stop playing within 6 months.

That actually looks like it might tell us about chest size. Maybe it's so thin you can see everything through?
