I see all the other mages that I can have in my party and they have acess to cooler trees than I do. How come all I see in my tree is the "Inquisitor" tree with one thing I can put points into? Why can't I have that cool Knight Enchanter thing everyone's talking about?

In short get to Skyhold and do the trainer/specialization mission on the war table.

Get to Skyhold, do a wartable mission, pick Knight Enchanter.
Enjoy killing everything in the game forever.
