I do. And I was about to ask the same.
I've never be able to find a perilous game on PS3. Literally, noone is playing on that difficulty.

don't get me wrong (I am a PC user and don't know anything about consoles)
but I am wondering why you buy this expensive game for a past-gen console.
I mean: The game is not cheap and this money would aready make up a big share of a next-gen-console.
I mean: The more money you put in an obsolete system, the more difficult it will be to ever make the change
And now I even hear that you have problems finding PUGS .
really, don't get me wrong - I don't mean this condescendingly.

In what part of the world does $60 not equal 15% of $400...which is the cost of a XboxOne/Ps4? How is that "making up a big share"?
I can't speak for everyone but priorities that involve me spending money on other things not video game related and not enough PS4 games I'm interested in have kept me from buying a PS4.

Which only cost me $60...and the other I can do for free. I don't see your point?

Yes, 15%. But just for ONE game.
And how much would the PS3 sell on ebay?
60$ is FULL price for a game which runs with limited graphics (?) on a system that will lose people's interest
while it already seems hard today to find a group (?)
And every spent $ makes it "harder" to change the system.
But I am not telling you how to spend your money (!) - these are just MY thoughts because
I was asking myself this question 1-2 times already so I asked the Thread Starter.

Exactly. I don't own a PS4 and I can't care less about graphics and technical aspects. I play videogames mainly for two reasons: stories and competition.
I'll buy a PS4 as soon as the games I want are released only in that system (Street Fighter V seems to be the turning point for me).

What's your point? I paid full price for a game that I wanted to own on the system I have so I can play it now, not after I buy a PS4. Whenever that may be.
I have zero issues finding games on Routine/Threatening on a PS3 which is fine since I don't PUG Perilous.

Game cost 60 us dollars console cost 450 us dollars I may have 60 to spend but not 450 plus another 60 which is 510 versus 60. Don't know about you, but 450 dollars is more than some make in a week here in us so that's why people are still on older consoles.

If you care about competition you should probably play on a system that actually has people's attention and interest then.Exactly. I don't own a PS4 and I can't care less about graphics and technical aspects. I play videogames mainly for two reasons: stories and competition.
I'll buy a PS4 as soon as the games I want are released only in that system (Street Fighter V seems to be the turning point for me).
I don't boot up my dreamcast and wonder why I can't find anyone to play multiplayer games with.
PC will always have a healthy player base, and any remaining games that come out on both last and current gen consoles will always have a superior player base on the current gen systems.
That's just the way it works and you can't change that.
So either get a new system, build a pc, or accept the fact that you're drawing from the smallest possible pool of players.
On a related note, black Friday and Christmas deals are the best time to get a new system. You say you don't want to spend the cash until better games come out, but that doesn't make any sense because the cheapest you'll find the systems is NOW.
I didn't feel the need to buy a ps4 until bloodborne comes out, but I still got one on black Friday because free bonus games.

You don't play fighting games, I presume,
The "superior player base" for practically all important fighting games out there (USFIV, Tekken Tag, Injustice, Guilty Gear, Blazblue, P4U, etc, etc) are the XBOX 360 and the PS3. That's why I don't care about buying a next-gen console. And the fighting games scene on PC is just... plain bad. To me, a FG player, consoles are where the player base is.
That's just the way it works and you can't change that.
Also, I'm pretty sure these brand new last gen consoles will drop its price eventually, probably in a year or two. Why should I spend about 400 € when I can play practically all the games I want with my PS3 or Xbox 360? It doesn't make sense.

This is a DRAGON AGE forum.
DRAGON AGE will always have a healthy player base on pc.
DRAGON AGE is not a fighting game.
And even if it were, it would have more people on ps4/xbone than on last gen systems.
Derp
And in response to your edit:
You CAN play them on last gen systems.
But don't come crying that you don't have more people to play with, because a large portion of the player base moved on to the new systems.
Do your parents still spoon feed you?
And
I COULD play Dragon age on a pc with the minimum system requirements. Just like you CAN play Dragon age on a last gen system.
would I want to? Well...no.
I typically like the best version of anything I purchase. It's cool that you have low standards though.
you must buy disposable cameras. And drive a Ford Taurus from 1980. Havnt bought a new pair of socks in 10 years. Or underwear. Scrape the mold off the leftover pizza you put in the fridge and eat the "good parts."
I could go on.

You were talking about competition, I just asked why the competition, to me, are not in the new gen. systems, Plain and simple.
And that sentence in bold is absolutely false. The FG competition are in the previous generation consoles, virtually nobodoy is playing fighting games seriously in the new systems. And that's a fact.

I give up. You're beyond help.
Go play your fighting games on your last gen systems and stop posting here.
But come back to let me know how many SFV tournaments you win on your ps3.

Who's crying? Oh boy, I think we have another troll here.
Listen, for most of the games I play, the players base is still in the old systems. And I'm not talking about Dragon Age, I'm talking about the games I PLAY, NOT DRAGON AGE. That's why I don't need to buy a new system.
Seriously, is that so difficult to understand?

Remember your first post? You were telling me that "If I should care about competition, PC will have a better player base bla, bla".
I just answered why you are wrong. In fact, you never mentioned anything about Dragon Age, so I assumed you were talking about games in general. And, according the tone of your post, you actually did. Hence my answer.
This is a DRAGON AGE forum. not a "all the games ryu plays" forum.

"dont' feed the troll".
I'm out, need to finish that pesky weekend challenge.
