Yes.
If you want a very different kind of playthrough, try this. Its awesome.
I think that one was the result of bad decision making on the part of the devs, rather than a lack of time or resources. As evidence for that I present Diana Allers. Would it make more sense to model this completely new character that served no real purpose within the story, or to use the resources giving an existing fan favorite a proper reveal?
Tali getting the stock photo treatment came about through poor decision making rather than resource limitations.
Or use those resources for the ME2 squadmates
I just started a new Mass Effect game, my plan was/is to go through the entire series again. The issue I have is Mass Effect 3 really left a bad taste in my mouth (as it did for many, I'm sure). I haven't even touched the game since a week after it was released. Has the game improved since then? How is the dlc? Spending "Bioware points" is going to cost about $50 to get everything. So basically, my question is, is the game worth it now? Thanks in advance.
Mass Effect 3 is awesome and I don't care what anybody else says.
The beginning Earth section is nothing more than a tutorial and does not represent the complete game at all. I would also highly recommend getting all of the DLC's including the free Extended Cut to fix the issue with the EMS rating needing the mp portion of the game to get the best ending.
There is absolutely nothing else out there like Mass Effect.....NOTHING. I was sad when I finished The Citadel dlc after beating the campaign because there were no more missions to do.
The best order to play the dlc's imo:
From Ashes
Omega
Leviathan
Citadel
ME3 is definitly worth another try for anyone who ever played it.
Yes I would recommend buying all the DLCs (mainly Extended Cut and Leviathan).
Here's how I suggest you to play the DLCs:
-From Ashes: After Priority:Palaven
-Omega: After the Citadel Coup. It's nice to go destroy Cerberus's troops and take Omega back right after they tried to take the Citadel. More like ''In your face Cerberus!''
-Leviathan: This one is separated in 3 parts. Play the first 2 parts whenever you want, but you should play the 3rd part after Priority:Thessia, otherwise Shep acts like an idiot and asks the A.I. everything that Leviathan told him before.
-Citadel: Play it after Priority: Rannoch. I always thought it fit well there because you just had a huge fight with a Reaper and etc, and the Normandy probably needs some repairs as well. Then, keep the Citadel Party for right before Priority: Cerberus Headquarters, this way everyone is there.
If I hadn't touched it since a week after release I would also still have a bad taste in my mouth.
The Extended Cut and DLC that followed changed things, to say the least. If you haven't played through it with all the content then you haven't experienced it the way it was meant to be experienced. The DLC improves the campaign exponentially.
Icing on a ****cream cake.
Like many have said, try the Extended Cut for sure. It really changes the feeling of the end. Many people came away with a much better feeling from ME3 with that.
I like all the DLCs for various reasons. Omega is a fun romp but story wise Ashes is great and if you want more information on the Reapers, Leviathan is great. Sometimes I prefer taking the less is more approach and don't activate Leviathan but it's a great DLC. Citadel DLC is quite cheesy but if you're into that and like your team members, past and present, it is a nice send off.
Try the game with the Extended Cut. For most people, it brings great closure for them. Yeah, there are mods out there if you are on PC and want to, but give the EC a try first. I think you'll find it much better than the original ending you would have had.
You absolutely need to try the citadel dlc. It focuses on what Bioware does best (characters). Most of the dlc is pretty much just you hanging out with your squadmates from the entire trilogy. Also, its hilarious as hell. It has some of the funniest writing BIoware has ever done. And its also REALLY lengthy. Took me over 8 hours to finish that. That's a fantastic length for just one dlc.
I try to trilogy playthrough every now and then but struggle to start ME3 given my issue with the auto-dialogue and how the story goes overall. While I do not have much good to say for the ME3 game alone, the single-player dlc are very good.
yeah definitely, OP. Give it another go through. It's a good game overall, and I personally enjoyed the dlc's. I play the Leviathan and Citadel dlc after the Thessia mission and before the Cerberus HQ. It feels right there. That and the Extended Cut on the end....I mean, if you ever want to leave the Citadel again.
Mass Effect 3 is an incredible game so yes.
kek
And the DLCs are good.
I dunno about DLCs plural. The only good DLC is Citadel.
Even with the endings (the weakest of the trilogy) I'd rank ME3 as the best game out of three.
I also think ME3 had more than one good DLC. Leviathan is one of the best story DLCs Bioware has done IMO. Omega is good as well, just a little more action-oriented than the others and a bit overpriced.

Omega feels way shorter than it is because it's 90% shooting. In terms of the actual plot layout, it's probably the longest of the 3, but it feels halfbaked. Not to mention the whole "revisit areas from ME2!" schtick amounted only to 90 seconds of going through Mordin's clinic, and the final battle at Afterlife. The investigatory parts of Leviathan when you're hunting for clues are fine, but the actual interactions with the Leviathan itself just make me say "ugh, f**king seriously?" whenever I see them. The added tidbits of dialogue for the final chat with the Catalyst seal the deal for me in the "f**king seriously" department.
I played it again through once after the EC and that's it. I really just can't bring myself to play through the games now knowing what I know. I don't want to love my Commander Shepard again only to have her die at the end.
I would love them have Jen Hale voice act another female player character and have the ending not suck like this one did. I miss Jen's voice acting.
I definitely think ME3 is worth another shot thanks to Extended Cut, citadel, and Leviathan. Omega isn't necessary. Unfortunately, Citadel and Leviathan cost $$, so if you try the game with those two and still don't like the experience, that's $25 down the drain.
I think to get the most from the extended cut is to use two very different playthroughs, one where you do a good job at asset collecting and this get the high EMS endings, then go for a fail-shep playthrough to where you get a low EMS ending selection.
