It was a joke guys. But it's not a genre created out of thin air, bands like this actually exist. :P

Me, I am currently into something more mellow. Like this.

Naturally, it has plenty of subgenres and it really, really bugs me when some ignorant twits stumble upon a singular death metal song by mistake and then immediately assume the entire genre sounds like this. I remember how during the ME3 ending fiasco someone linked the Starchild song. Boy, some reactions made me either cringe, facepalm or all of those at once..

God, death metal is so bad.

heretic! :D

Where is Progressive Atmospheric Symphonic Melodic Death/Black Metal. Poll is racist.

i could have made a single poll only for metal subgenres, but i didnt want to do this. if its more death/black than the other parts i would say its extreme metal :P

I heard this the other day and I actually busted out laughing when the vocalist started in. Terrible cover of a great song.

great vocals  (no really, i like it)

could be "worse" though:

It definitely varies. Some days I love listening to the spacey-futuristic-dystopian sounds of Muse's Citizen Erased, sometimes I lend an ear for eerie guitar 'cords of Radiohead's Street Spirit and sometimes I can also sit back and be embraced by a session of tranquilty from the likes Pink Floyd's Shine on You Crazy Diamond or Queen's bombastic rock opera that is Bohemian Rhapsody. On other days I like to listen to electronica or trip-hop names like Daft Punk, Etro Anime, Mikael Simpson, Justice, Portishead, Andrea Parker, Gorillaz -- Sometimes I also find myself listening to 1960's glam-rock sensation, David Bowie and even his more modern stuff, like his latest album after a long hiatus, which sounds like a return to his more rocky tunes ala Rebel Rebel or Ziggy Stardust.

I also find myself listening to experimental music or bands the mixes elements of blues, jazz, rock, classic tunes of Rachimanoff and even gorgeous instruments like piano into more robust songs (generally in rock again). In terms of experimental artists, I'd say I usually listen to the likes of Björk.

Occasionally I'll also listen to classic 90's grunge-distorted tunes of Nirvana, The Cranberries & My Bloody Valentine, sometimes shift further back to new-wave-synth-pop tunes of Depeche Mode & Joy Division. Occasionally I'll even listen to Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin..

Basically, it varies. I like a lot of music, I like bands that experiments with what can be done with music and instruments, bands/artists that sound like the future, or embrace innovation. In general, I really like electronica & rock (spread across all its different sub-genres). I also love listening to soothing tunes that utilizes heavy usage of percussion tunes from say.. careful beatings on a ride cymbal, usage of electronica, and even quiet bass tunes -- or Jazz.

Lots of rock. Grunge, Shoegaze, and punk are probably at the top for the last month or so. I listen to a lot of Electronic. Deep-House, House, DnB, Jungle( talking bout classic DnB), acid house, And Trance.

I really like alot of synth/tech-pop/experimental music too. People like The Knife. (Now they're no more :'(  )

I love instrumentals and classical music. But I could go on. I just checked the boxes for what I listen to the most. I like listening to a lot of different stuff. If it sounds good to me. I've gotten to the point to where I listen to anything and everything at least once to see if I like it.

No man. It could be much, MUCH worse.

Turn your volume up before watching the video. It's really silent.

(I don't even know what "genre" is this.... experiment supposed to be.)

Most stuff.

I'm flexible.

Recently discovered Sabaton

They're awesome.

And I don't even like this kind of music.

But them?

Their lyrics are just great.

Love them. They taught me more history in high school than the teachers themselves. I also saw them live a bunch of times as well. :)

LOL! Funny enough I find the vocals mesh with the acoustics in a very weird way that I cannot explain

I'd be actually more impressed if *they* were playing the instruments and singing. The guys in the background are those who do all the real work. :P

Frankly, there are much better Visual Kei, J-rock/metal bands out there that don't need to rely solely on being gimmicky IMHO. I like these. :)

Heavy metal:
