I'm kind of excited to have BioWare show more of the world beyond Ferelden and Orlais and to wrap up some of the major conflicts there, at least for now. I'd kind of miss Ferelden a little bit, but no doubt I'll quickly get over it with the new PC and new stories/settings/companions.

If they keep going another 3-5 games it's very possible we return or get a GIANT game where we can travel between multiple regions.

In the North, preparing DA4 for us.

Well good, the North seems like the place to be. It remembers!

Also the most important question was never answered: "Did Divine Gallitea take a **** on Sunday?" we need to know these things people! The game just leaves us guessing!

Here's to hoping! I'd like for this to be the final installment though. If they're going to get that really giant game, it'd be good to have it be the last.

I thought Zevran was single handedly hunting down the crows. In the codex in DA2 ,where he makes his cameo, it said he had already killed like two grandmasters. Shame they didn't go more into that, like the end of the crows for good. Also i think if we go north in the next installment, we will definitlely be seeing more of sten. The comics and Iron Bull both state that he is indeed the new arishok. On another note, I would like to see Dorian as a party member when we travel to Tevinter.

The world of Thedas seems like it's a big place so why not explore more areas.

I, for one, am ecstatic about that.

Tevinter, Seheron, Anderfels... something new.

Rifneno:  The dwarves and their relation to Tevinter seem very capable of answering that question.

If we see as much of Min Rathos as we have of Val Royeaux then it won't be that interesting. Val Royeaux was what, one gigantic room? Plus little additionals tacked on for story quests that teleport you to them.

I wish we could run around the city instead. There are POOR AREAS BIOWARE! Poor people exist! Not everyone is wealthy!

They will presumably have to write an alternate Arishok if Sten died in Lothering.

I agree that the series seems ready to move geographically, with only Solas being a real loose end (perhaps wrapped up in Inquisition DLC, dealing with him with another protagonist would be meh). Dorian or Iron Bull reappearing in a significant way seems possible though.

Essentially yes, OP. Given Bioware's statements regarding their intentions to move north, and the way they wrapped up things in the South of Thedas it will at the very least be a good long while before we return down south. And it is highly unlikely we'll be seeing these characters in the next title. I thought they handled it perfectly. And should we get a Citadel DLC sort of expansion to DAI towards the end of it's DLC cycle, it will be all the better.

Where the eff is Sandal?!

I would like to know that too. I was a little disappointed that Bodahn and Sandal didn't show up in Orlais working for the Empress. I miss them and I miss the option to have a Mabhari of your own too....

I want Sandal in DLC, which I guess might be a Bioware marketing plan already.

We're not 'wrapped up' with the South, not really, but now we have little need to visit it again. Like the North in DAO-DAI. Things have trended North and West as we went through DAI, so that may be what we deal with (Nevarra? Seheron? Anderfels? Tevinter? Arlathan?). DAI's DLC will make this even more clear, as since ME2 (and even DAO to an extent), Bioware's been using it as a bridge to the next game, even when just thematically.

It just put  more plot holes in the DA story. Some stories are just better left untold. The series no longer holds any mysterious charm and is no longer dazzling with wonders.

I think they are trying to wrap up loose ends, but not in a goodbye sort of way.    More like a "We are leaving this region of the world and don't want to have to rehash all of these threads in the next game again" sort of way.

Lets be honest..   Loose threads should rarely keep perpetuating beyond a game or two.  This is especially true in a series with a different protagonist and story from game to game.   If the next game is going to Tevinter or Antiva, or Rivain,  do you really want them to have to drag along old character 1000s of miles away from where they should be to try to answer old questions?

Actually I like it this way we had three games set in southern thedas its time to move on

I just hope this isn't a goodbye to DA in general I want many more DA games in the years to come

jeez some people can't ever be satisfied..

DA2 comes along, most people: nothing was resolved no questions answered this sucks

DA:I actually resolves things and provides closure for many characters and plotlines and still some complain? damm

The next DA will probably be concerning Rivain and the Qunari considering that there were devs talking about it.

I hate the Qun. Righteousness = the ends justify the means in addition to the removal of personal identity and independence and all, supposedly for the greater good?

No thanks.

I'm hoping for tevinter, personally. I think that could be a good start to the north. Then we move to antiva before going wild in rivain or I suppose we could go full on warden and hit the anderfels.

of course the qun is extreme but I still think its interesting and why would you not play the game if its about the Qunari threat?
Not sure I understand..

Bioware probably originally planned something else for DA3, but because there are fans who can't seem to let go of HOF, they tried to eliminate all the lose ends from DA:O so the fans will shut the hell up and writers can move on with new stories and heroes. They tried to sum up everything with Hawke too, just in case. The Inquisitor lacks a lot of character and story because they're afraid people will attach themselves too much to the Inquisitor and freak out with the next game that the inquisitor isn't back.

I think this is quite a good explanation for why the Inquisitor has the personality of a wet noodle. I really liked my Wardens and my Hawkes, but I don't feel even slightly attached to the Inquisitor, she is boring with a capital B. It makes it seem less awful if I think they did it on purpose, so head canon accepted! ;)

Flemeth? Gone? Phffft.

That woman has a habit of jumping bodies and snipping off pieces of herself. She isn't done yet.  B)

(even if you believe Solus absorb her rather then Flemeth taking over his body)

I don't expect Bioware to keep to the whole "The Qun is a threat to Thedas" motif. I expect them to design it to where I have to contend with "The Qun isn't so bad depending on how you look at it" crap.

I have no tolerance for anyone or anything that advocated a removal of my personal identity for either their own personal or societal gain. I can deal with people who disagree with any action I deem necessary to do, but to remove my ability to do so forcibly(Re-Educators) is something I will never accept.

"I" will be the one who chooses to capitulate. "I" will be the one who will agree to obey or disobey.

The "Qun" is nothing short than a society god who dictates everything of your life for the "greater good".

Personal volition is the essence of sentient life and the Qun would take that away for their own purposes. No way in hell.
