I don't expect Bioware to keep to the whole "The Qun is a threat to Thedas" motif. I expect them to design it to where I have to contend with "The Qun isn't so bad depending on how you look at it" crap.
I have no tolerance for anyone or anything that advocated a removal of my personal identity for either their own personal or societal gain. I can deal with people who disagree with any action I deem necessary to do, but to remove my ability to do so forcibly(Re-Educators) is something I will never accept.
"I" will be the one who chooses to capitulate. "I" will be the one who will agree to obey or disobey.
The "Qun" is nothing short than a society god who dictates everything of your life for the "greater good".
Personal volition is the essence of sentient life and the Qun would take that away for their own purposes. No way in hell.
The Glorious Legions of the Imperium would like someone such as you to join them, to defend the world from the qunari.

Bioware probably originally planned something else for DA3, but because there are fans who can't seem to let go of HOF, they tried to eliminate all the lose ends from DA:O so the fans will shut the hell up and writers can move on with new stories and heroes. They tried to sum up everything with Hawke too, just in case. The Inquisitor lacks a lot of character and story because they're afraid people will attach themselves too much to the Inquisitor and freak out with the next game that the inquisitor isn't back.
Well, the inquisitor was an "everyman" like the main characters in TES games. And really, when you look at DAI, this game was equally generic. The combat system was generic, the game was mostly side quests and fetching and collecting, with a very short story. It just seems like they are going in a different direction with game design, and not necessarily a good one.

You'll be disappointed methinks.
I agree. I think the time of the Wardens is over.

I wouldn't say the time of the Wardens is over but having the Hero back as the main character is slim at best.
I say it isn't over since DAI did a pretty decent job hinting at things going on with the Wardens. Between the Hero investigating the calling and Morrigans epilogue slide about the splintered factions, they aren't done yet.

I would be shocked if we ever played a Warden protagonist again, which is what I was referring to.

and I for one couldn't be happier not playing the warden again when I can play a different protaganist.

Bioware... Tevinter, the Qun...

Well, if you exiled the Wardens like I did, they shouldn't be coming back. At least I hope not.
There is talk in this game from Dorian and Calpernia about rebuilding Tevinter. That's what I'd like to see, and their issues with the Qunari.

I for one am still looking forward to the next game, I'd like to see Antiva, Rivain, Nevarra or Teventer. Thedas is still a setting that has a lot of potential for untold stories.

I honestly didn't get that sense. In fact, I was slightly weirded out that every companion in Skyhold was basically like "Yeah, I'm gonna stick around here for a while." I was like, what, are they making DAI: 2?
They have to say that for the DLC's/expansions.

This isn't a hateful sentiment, but it's such a goodbye that I'm not even that interested in DA anymore. They're going to have to sell me on new ideas all over again. The South had all I wanted to explore. I don't care about Qunari or Tevinter. I hope they kill each other. It's just a rehash of mage/templar, control/liberty themes, but done in the extreme. The South's struggle with that was more nuanced and complex. And I barely care for Rivain. The one place where I could find more Chantry themes is the Anderfels, but it just sounds like a desert, with dour people. If I had to play in that setting, I'd fall asleep.

Actually quite a few end up going their own way if you don't befriend them (Sera, Bull, Blackwall, Cole).

For me blackwall went more back and forth than his own way, I mean maybe he twitched a little while swinging in VR but that's more muscle spasm than a choice.

I have a thought for DA4. Let me lay it out for you...
- Chasind Wilders far to the south in the frozen wastes...
- Locked in centuries old conflict with...
- A strange offshoot of elves who love to dress in green...
- Ruled by a fat, immortal Qunari decked out in red lyrium armor...
- Who rides flying Druffalo...

Yes yes, but where does the biotic god fit in this story?

Agree we're headed north but I bet we might get a couple of cameos. Isabella, Sten and Zevran call the north home. And there will be lots of Arlathan seeing as it's in Antiva. And I'm fairly sure chaos will ensue with HoF looking for the cure...I'm glad they wrapped up the mage / templar conflict. 2 games and 2 novels was more than enough
I can't even care about Arlathan anymore. It used to be on my mind, and I was a Dalish fan as well. Now they're just a joke. I'm fully in the City Elf camp now. Only the future matters.

3 Games to tell the story of the south of Thedas... now we need 3 to tell the story in the north. Tevinter connections and the Grey Warden issues are signs of all of this, both based in the North.
