Fired up a Elven keeper MP character and played it for the first time today, but something i noticed in all my games, I move like a Sherman Tank compared to everyone else, even cumbersome warrior types.  Is there some skill to be had later on that increases movement speed?

It's not a lag issue as the connection is fine and everything is ticking over as it should on screen such as my attack speed and whatnot.  Like i said, everyone just seems to run faster.  I was always last getting into a room, into a court yard etc as people we always overtaking me.

There is a sprint function in the game.

Press Shift to Sprint. You will stop sprinting when you start attacking or stop moving, so no need to hold the button down. Jumping and sprinting makes you move even faster, and looks funny to boot. It's also useful if you are in a game with a bad connection and can keep you with your teammates by bunny-hopping after them.

Some characters also have evasive style moves that can make them move good distances at a time. Most mages especially have access to fade cloak/step (whichever makes you warp a distance and can be controlled and upgraded to do freezing damage.)

Steroids run rampant in Thedas. You should have your PUG team tested for performance enhancement drugs.

Yesterday I had a game with HORRIBLE movement lag.  I literally went 2 steps forward, 1 step backward, the entire way start to finish.  The funny thing is, everything else on my screen ran without a hitch, smooth as butter.

Are you using that 60FPS fix command line? if so you may want to erase that off because it fucks with multiplayer really bad to the point of unplayable.

Also when that happens jumping can solve alot of the movement issues. Just FYI.

Shift key is sprint by default although it is hardly noticable so I think you might have an occasion glitch I have experienced where you move at an extreme slow rate. Just find a new host and it should be fixed.

As everyones pointed out, run is toggled. Pro-tip, jumping sets the character back to walking, so does most abilities [especially movement related ones.] So be wary of that and have a finger ready to push shift / the LS in if your on a controller.

lol  I wondered the same when I was first playing MP. Played a few days of MP before I finally asked one of my PUG groups and learned about sprinting. Like the first replier said, its Shift on a keyboard. If you play with an xbox controller, like I do, you have to push the L-stick down. Have fun out there!

On XB1 I find the L-stick push rather uncomfortable, so i only jog everywhere.

As an Archer/Mage that's fine, I'll be at the back.

When I'm a tank, if they are volunteering for meat-shield duty, be my guest...

I often end up accidentally drinking both heal potions on Wave 1 when trying to sprint

If only LB was unmappable

I  played 250 hours of multiplayer and still cannot run with XBox 360 controller. In singleplayer sprint is working fine, though.

And yes, tried all  buttons like zillion times in attempt to run.

I still think it is some kind of bug on PC when playing with controller.

I have trouble keeping up even when sprinting. It's a big problem as a Keeper when your targets for Barrier outrun you.
