BioWare us definitely coming from a good place, so I appreciate the effort. You're correct that honest efforts are far better than no effort. They'll hopefully continue to blend their efforts into their stories in progressively better ways.
I think of it like this: in TV Land, I used to watch both Will & Grace and a short-lived show called The New Normal. Every episode in both shows was gay gay gay to the power of gay. One was hilarious and ran for 8 seasons and the other got cancelled after one. The difference was that every episodes of The New Normal ended with a "and the moral of the story is..." scene whereas Will and Grace only cared about being funny. Maybe Bioware should take themselves a little less seriously without actually taking the issues any less seriously. I don't know. It's a fine line to walk I guess and there's always someone who's gonna be offended by what you do.
