It just take too long.

When I have time to play games, I end up playing some other title just because Im tired of all the loading time of DAI. Just to start the game and load the save is more than 5 min (I have a PC above the recomended settings). After that, the game demands constant travels to skyhold, more 3 to 5 min.

One can think that its not that much, but when you have only around 2h to play three times a week (I work and study) all this loading time really hurts. In one session of 2h, I will probably spend 20 min looking to the black screen of loading.

I already gave up complaining about good PC controls (I surrended to the majesty Gamepad), but this unbelievable long loading times need to be addressed ASAP.

Yea it does take quite a while to load on some PCs , i gave up on it to be honest ( since my PC isnt the best ) and got a ps4 version , the loading never takes more than a couple of seconds on that.

Or maybe you should just buy an SSD, it's almost 2015.

How about no?  I have a US$ 1800 PC that runs all games I own on high/ultra with no problems with configuration above the recomended for DAI.

But, just for the sake of it, let me ask, how long are the loading times for you with ssd?

It wouldn't be so bad if they at least let you read the codex things that the screens pop up with, at random times you just get a black screen which is just garbage in this era of gaming. To think elevator scenes got scrapped for actual loading screens in Mass Effect because people moaned about them. Would happily take elevator like scenes to replace loading screens!

You have a 1800$ PC with slow-ass storage? Sorry, but you built it wrong.

But, just for the sake of it, let me ask, how long are the loading times for you with ssd?

I have two (on RAID 0), it takes between 3 and 10 seconds depending on the kind of loading screen (the "traveling" one or the first load).

Of course, same goes for those rambling about a 2014 game not working on ancient dual core CPUs.

It isn't that bad on the PS4. Also, why are you fast-traveling so much? Once you fast-travel to one area there's a bunch of stuff to do.

Yeah the loading times are a few secs on ps4.

Would be nice to be able to stay on the screen with those card things though, rather than that disappearing and being left with blackness.  :P

It's going to come down to your rig. The game is very demanding of resources. Mine runs fine, but I just upgraded it last month. The one I had before had run everything I'd ever played since just fine, but it was sucking on this one.

I was reading here and there and I thought that the long loading time was a problem for most PC players. If it is not, nevermind this thread...

But it is very weird that I can run Shadow of Mordor on Ultra with outstanding FPS and have this kind of problem with DAI. I remember when I bought TW: Rome II, it was terribly optimized on the release, but after 2 patchs the game started to run smothly and flawlessly. I thought that maybe it was the same with DAI.

For the record, the recommended spec for DAI:

Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
CPU
AMD six core CPU @ 3.2 GHz
Intel quad core CPU @ 3.0 GHz
System RAM
8 GB
Graphics CARD
AMD Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Graphics Memory
2 GB

My machine:

i5 3,3GHz
16GB
GTX 780 (2GB)

I just timed my load times with my phone's stopwatch app.

From the main menu, I clicked continue and loaded up Haven up until I reached a playable state. This was exactly 30 seconds.
From Haven to the Hinterlands (crossroads) was 34 seconds.

This is on an SSD (Adata Premiere Pro SP900). I have an AMD Radeon R9 270X, Core i5 4690K @3.5 Ghz, 8GB DDR3 1600. I run the game on Mantle.

I think it's a bit long, but reasonable, considering the size of the areas. It's not like it's loading all the time, like in the previous two games.

Frostbite is famous for its long loading times though.

People with Battlefield 3/4 installed on a magnetic drive needs like a whole minute to get into a server.

It took me longer on an HDD. And when I got it, it turned out the round was over and we had to load the next map.

A couple things can slow it down, depending on the type of RAM you have, if you're have an SSD, how efficient your video card/processor are. But 3 to 5 minutes is a lot. What kind of settings are you running it on? Does lowering the settings help? Have you closed out background programs?

No, I dont have SSD. Ill try lowering the settings and see how it goes.

As I said, I had the notion that it was a problem for most people. If it is just me, I will find one way to solve it.

I feel like SSDs are slowly becoming manditiory for PC gaming if you want decent load speeds

I'm not sure it's loading times. The saves files for this game are tiny. It's probably the engine generating the landscape that takes the time. Remember when PC games had progress bars?

I don't run DA:I on my SSD (due to all the Denuvo talk), but my load times are still bearable.  They're not speedy fast, but 20 minutes of loading in 2 hours is excessive.  30 seconds is about all I have to wait.  Definitely seems related to either your RAM or your GPU.

The first time I load up the game to play it takes around 3 minutes to load, after I quit and load it again it takes a few seconds. This is also on a HDD.

My machine is inferior to yours, and I don't sit on the loading screen for more than 45 seconds tops. (And even that is rare. It generally takes 10-15 seconds). You must have something slowing down your computer. Whatever the case, the problem is clearly on your end.

My SSD load times are so fast I can't read two sentences when I'm loading an entire zone. If I quick travel to a camp the game loads so fast sometimes I can literally see my party drop out of the sky in the camp.

Get an SSD. Using an HD for anything beyond storage of bulk files like shows/movies is IMO outdated now.

I have an SSD, and it was money well spent. I just timed how long it took for me to load a save (through "continue" from the main menu), and it was 22 seconds.

Other than the SSD, I have a pretty middle-of-the-road system, and run the game with most graphics settings on medium.

Just like In Exile above, my load times are typically too short for me to read anything but the shortest messages on the cards in the loading screen.

That isn't due to your fast loading times, happens even on good old-fashioned HDs :-)

I knew I wasnt alone.  On his review, Yahtzee complained about the loading times too (around 4:30).

I lowered all settings to the minimun, doesnt seem to effect the loading time...definitly something weird is going on.
