My Inquisitor is a 2H Reaver.

Hawke was a Blood-Force Mage who was in denial that he was a Blood Mage and hated Blood Magic.

My Warden-Commander was a 2H Berserker-Reaver-Spirit Warrior with a dog named Barkspawn.

Clear winner is the Warden Commander.  :)

I forgot about mana clash.

If all your heroes are mages, the Warden only needs Hawke and the Inquisitor standing in the same vicinity and then slam that mana clash down on them.

They both die instantly.

Hmmm. I guess my war den would stand no chance against the other two. My Hawke would just kite her and oneshot her with a lucky Archer's Lance crit. Never habe Seen higher damage numbers in a dragon age game than Witz my archer Hawke. Inquisitor Cadash would just open a fade rift over the two oft them and suck them in. I.e. Inquisitor>Hawke>Warden

How wonderfully pointless a thread, I love these things! Where is the Star Wars vs. Star Trek ships thread?

Anyway, Warden is dual-wielding warrior, so I guess she had to respecc because that's no longer allowed in Thedas? (by chantry-law!)

Hawke is a backstabbing, wisecracking rogue

Quizzy a knight-enchantress mage

Guess my Quizzy, even without anchor, would just blast the ohers with ice-fire-lightning and fade-shift away if in trouble, plus endless barrier. But maybe Hawke could get at her undetedcted for massive backstabbing-damage? Warden is kinda screwd I guess, but she has one trump-card, and that's the Ferelden Army that would give all to protect the Royal-Consort...^^ But that's cheating...

And isn't it nice I have a canon-char for each of the three different classes? Wasn't even planned that way...

! My Human Arcane Warrior Warden VERSUS My Elven Knight Enchanter Inquisitor !

(Please note: I skipped DA2 and left Hawke in the Fade, thus 1-on-1.)

Both are epic mages, a human practicing the ancient elven form and an elf using the newer human-modified version. Hard to say which, so it comes down to spells, either the Hero of Ferelden's Crowd Control or the Inquisitor's Barriers + Spirit Sword.

Then my Inquisitor has the "Mark"...but she also has a problem: she doesn't want to use it.

In my Inquisition playthrough, my Knight Enchanter never used that Focus ability beyond escaping Haven. She thought it was too dangerous, too unknown an attack. Sure, she'll use the "Mark" to close Rifts as there's no other way, but that's about it.

She doesn't send everyone into the Fade (i.e. the Elder One) NOT because it's too hard...but because it's too easy. She's afraid of the slippery slope that road leads to. Thus, the fight won't be determined by magic...it's determined by how far each side will go.

The Hero was trained to win at any cost, as is necessary in a Blight. My Inquisitor wants to merely bring order, thus holds herself back. The victor in a straight-up 1-on-1 fight: the Hero of Ferelden.

---

However...even in this hypothetical, the above is an academic argument.  Should these 2 ever meet in battle, they'll have back-up.  Both have too many allies and friends who wouldn't let them go to war alone.  Thus, I must consider their supporters:

The Hero of Ferelden's Forces:

The Ferelden Army - King Alistair and Queen Anora owes him their thrones, the whole country their country.

The Dwarves - King Bhelen owes him his throne, plus the Hero fought for them in Orzamar, earning their loyalty.

Morrigan - she still loves him, and will bring knowledge of the Inquisition and the Well of Sorrows...a huge plus.

- VERSUS -

The Inquisitor's Forces:

The Inquisition Army - IIRC most of whom are Fereldens, so this might be weakened due to desertion and morale issues.

The Friends of Red Jenny - a very small force, but can be very disruptive of Ferelden's war efforts through sabotage.

The Orleisian Army - Empress Celene owes her life to him, as does her lover, plus all the nobles favour the Inquisitor.

The Chantry - Divine Cassandra is not only loyal to the Inquisitor, but also a great warrior who'll lead an Exalted March.

The Tevinter Chantry - the Dark Divine acknowledges the Inquisitor as the Herald due to past favours, Tevinter may ally.

Forces Not Participating Due To Other Reasons IMHO: Leliana, the Mages, the Grey Wardens, the Dalish Elves, the Qunari, other Empires.  Even though these groups have some relation to the 2 protagonists, their loyalties may be torn or not great enough to throw their people into this fight (like if they're too busy trying to rebuilt, in the midst or re-organization, etc.

Even without analyzing the powers of both sides, I think the Inquisitor will win by sheer superiority of numbers.

This was fun, lol, great topic.

Since all are warriors, I'm gonna have to go with my Champion/Templar/Spirit Warrior Warden. Holy Smite to Knock them down on their ass from afar, Power of the Blood + Beyond the Veil to blitz them with super human speed.

Though my HoF warrior was 2H mdps, I could respec him to the Spirit Warrior archer spec from Awakening.  Could easily hit for 9k without trying.

As I usually play a Rogue on first play throughs, there won't be much to go on really. Hawke was part of the army while, my Warden was just skilled (city elf). I'd say my Inquisitor would win.

Out of my second lot though, all mages. My Warden was power hungry, agreeing to deals with demons, using blood magic and making sure they survived above all else. If we take into account they are currently looking for a cure for the calling, it fits. They'd win that.

All three are 2hander warriors for me.

Warden is champion/berserker/spirit warrior with the power of blood

Hawke is a berserker/reaver

Inquisitor is a champion.

Warden and Hawke are both humans, Inquisitor is qunari.

Mechanically I'm not even going to try and break it down due to the different systems the three games use. My headcanon is that skill wise, my Inquisitor and Hawke are on a level with one another and that could go either way. If they teamed up together, they'd have a decent shot of beating my warden.

This is, of course, ignoring the inquisitor's Mark of the Rift ability, which would drastically shift the odds in their favor.

That's actually not true. Can't remember exactly where it says it, but those without proper training in magic after actually stunted in arcane growth. But since the Dalish do train their mages, she'd be good anyway. ;)

My warden was an awesome DW rogue. Snarky Hawke was Spirit Healer, essentially she kited around looking pretty and let everyone else do the hard work. Inquisadora is a Knight Enchanter. She'd probably win just by virtue of being able to push them through a rift in all honesty, not sure that anything else would really come into it.

Since my Inquisitor is a Knight Enchanter who wears a Heavy Armor with "Fade-touched Silverite", others won't have even a chance.

My Inquisitor can open fade rifts inside people, I don't even think this needs to be questioned.

My Warden's out of the equation - ultimate sacrifice.  If forced to fight one on one...probably my rogue Hawke.  My mage Inquisitor is more of the support type.

My Warden and Inquisitor are either constantly traveling around Theadas, killing darkspawn/bandits/demons/dragons/golems and gaining powerful artefacts and weapons; or/and they are playing politics and gaining allies. They are equal to each other. It would be hard to say who would won in duel. The Warden is (as veteran from Fifth Blight and Warden-Commander) probably more ruthless and experienced, but Inquisitor has access to very powerful specializations.

Hawke? He kills someone and than he has to rest for 3 years until an unavoidable catastrophe shows up. In that time, he's just drinking beer and playing cards. Damn it, he can't even choose his own path (I'm sure I'm not only one who wanted to show both Meredith and Orsino my middle finger at the beginning of the Last Straw). He may have potential, but it was wasted.

It would be an EPIC MAGE BATTLE!

My Warden was a Spirit Healer...so he pretty much will get PWNed LOL

Hawke vs. Trevelyan. Very similar! Both are nobles (ish), both snerky and will throw out a joke when they can. However my Trevelyan is more poised for monarchs and such. She's a lot more socially adept, in a way. I think Hawke's sarcastic humor will drown her. And she was a people's person. Popular, but not making the hard decisions necessary like Trevelyan.

Hawke's a Force Mage and Trevelyan's a Rift Mage. I think the Inquisitor would totally beat Hawke in an instant.

The victor in my case is obvious, considering that my warden was OP bloodmage/knightenchanter with over 20 different skills while both hawke and inquisitor are gimped in that department.

Hawke (a warrior) would beat the crap out of my Warden and Inquisitor who are both archers. Though if we count in the rift powers, Inquisitor wins by a mile. Warden's more of a leader than a fighter anyway.

Templar Quizzie would Wrath of Heaven and Spell Purge, before riding off with Blackwall into the sunset.
