Where people say 'its a single player game, if you don't like it don't play it..' Well what about the people like me that do want to play a combat mage but would find it more fun if it was still a challenge to play? I'm sure I can't be the only one.

I don't know how this thread's gonna make you less sick of that argument.

It's probably just going to lead to more...argument.

Just trying to get the devs to see that its not only the non-KEs that are saying it should be nerfed, but that people who like the idea of the class still think it needs balancing.

Okay, that's a fair complaint, but is the story section really the area for it? Wouldn't this fit more in the feedback and suggestions section?

Hell, I liked being unstoppable for awhile. Made up for that Hinterlands rift by the river and the three bears... And the first two times the Fereldan Frostback kicked my ass.

I made a KE today and while i find it fun it is a bit crazy but balanced. And if its nerfed more it will be a mediocre class. I get the arguement but if the devs say its balanced its balanced.

P.s i think they listen to gameplay changes in the feedback/suggestion thread

Sorry for that mistake. I'm relatively new to DA and after much research into the lore and into the playable characters, I finally decided that I wanted a sword weilding mage. Only to find out people think its cheap and overpowered when I started looking into it.

However, I am sorry for the misplaced post, I'm new in the forums here as well and thought this was the proper spot because it said 'characters.'

I am enjoying my knight enchanter, mainly because I love the opition of both attacking at a distance and up close as a mage. Anyways my main things I dislike about it are the following:

1.) can't wear heavy armor or even medium armor.

2.) I have 1 design for the magic blade, why not a scimitar or something more elven for my elven knight enchanter.

3.) that you only see the blade when you press the button. I would like to see it more then just then :P

I like it. My femquisitor will become a Knight Enchanter later in her playthrough.

Could try building it differently.  Like, skipping out on the passive that lets you generate Barrier when you deal damage.  Would be pretty easy to do that, wouldn't it?  iirc, that passive doesn't block anything, so you can avoid it and still fill out the rest of the tree.

I've only used the Arcane Warrior in the MP, and since that's based on the Knight Enchanter, I can say that yeah, it's ridiculously OP.  And I like it because of that.  But then, that's just me.   :P

Again welcome to the bsn

I completely understand. It took me a bit to get used to navigating the forums when I began my account. The thing is, repeat threads are really common, as are threads turning up in a section that they have nothing to do with. It gets a little cluttered. I'd imagine there's already more than one thread addressing this topic at this current time.

No worries, though. You'll probably start some discussion here in any case.  :)

Did they already make some changes to it? Because I can still totally own dragons in minutes w/ Viv. :P Haven't made a KE Inquisitor yet, though. Necromancer fit my first mage much better.

I say let the mages have their fun. The class is badass, and they need something to equate to the warrior's champion.

The game in general is imbalanced. Nightmare should not be easy.

KE is boring to play, that's the offset. I take the specialization for the passives and stick to elemental spells. The problems of power gamers have never been very compelling to me, though.

With Guard potentially making a warrior invulnerable, you can't say the overpoweredness is limited to one class, however.

May be you should consider about nerf youself first... Use less damage staff, less critical damage/chance.

There also plenty of players who just want to be bad ass and wreck everything that stand against them too.

And it's not potentially either, it pretty much does. My only offset is that I dress to impress, not for protection. If I did, I can't imagine how boring my game would be from the ease.

I enjoy playing KE. I'm pretty much a tactical failure so it's nice to have a variation in play styles and an increased chance of survivability as a mage.

I'm fairly certain every class becomes a snoozefest at level 15+
