I've promoted several classes now.
3 maps alternating between templars and demons... is now BORING!!!
Archer seems to be the most OP - I'm getting 1 shot kills with 2 to 4K damage per hit... just move to the flank and do a range shot!
Speced to get 55+% Crit
And always top XP and kills at end game.
The game is biased towards delivering damage and final kill shot - which the archer does best.
A Legionnaire pulling agro away from the Rangers and DPSers, even with a few strikes in, gets the least XP.
Archer, assassin, and any AOE damager will steal the kill - slower leveling unless the legionnaire is > level than rest of party.
There should be a balance to give XP for providing support like putting barriers on everyone and taking damage.
Drops are crap...
After playing 4 characters to 20 and promoting to 1 and leveling up again. .
I got 3 rings for Archers... but nothing for any other class... again game seems tilted towards archers.
And this is proving to be the case... many times, finding my self in party of 3 archers
Anyone seen a belt or a necklace?
When ever I do get a blue or a purple drop it is often for 10 levels lower than what the common item I'm using is.
It's useless.
Mixed potion chests are biased towards resist potions which are the least useful
And Lyrium potions are rare! But don't really need them.
Potions:
For taking down the end boss: Mighty force, Tears of Death
Don't waste slot for bees - often some low level critters gets it and it's a waste.
Crowd Control: Antivar fire, confusion (but bosses are immune), slow goo (whatever it is called)
When I can get them:
Mist, regen
I agree with the TC. Bioware really dropped the ball on this one. DAMP feels rushed, untested and thrown together at the last minute just to add replay value. At least with MEMP, you could actually find useful items in chests. Here, you find mostly crap and it seems to take forever to gather up materials to unlock new characters, no matter how many items you salvage.
Match breaking bugs like the infamous 'you do not have the key to open this door' message, weekend challenges you can't complete because you don't have the weapon, and when you finally get lucky enough to get the weapon, the rewards are crap. Weapon schematics that never seem to unlock. Only 3 maps so far. Overall, grinding is unrewarding in DAMP. Hopefully, Bioware steps it up after the holiday vacation.
I tried playing DAMP, 5 times tonight, this was my outcome.
1st - Got to stage 4 and crashed to desktop (only game that crashes to desktop that I own, and I play some pretty intense games, nothing in eventvwr, drivers updated, yada yada, but fair enough maybe its my rig??)
2nd - Got to stage 3 and had the locked door bug, looked around about 5 mins nuking the hell out of the place with AoEs, no go, and logged off
3rd - Completed all 5 stages and actually got a level, omg!!!!
4th - So much lag, I could hardly move, 1 step forward seemed to take me 4 steps back. I leaped off a railing in the nick of time from a swordsman chasing me only to rubber band back into his sword and dead....(this happens every time I do not host the game) (I currently run on Comcast business 57mb down/15 up. I do understand there are other factors to hosting, but interwebz speed is important)
5th - Logged into an active session and was stuck staring at the wall, right by the door, and could not move. I can do attacks, but cannot walk. Disconnected and put the game down.
I do love DA, all of them, and I have put in lots of hours into the MP of DAI, but it does challenge my compsure and will power when I have that kind of completion rate. I would say on average I get to play only 50% of the time. The other 50% is like things listed above.
Please fix these issues, so your game can be playable. I know I am not the only one who suffers from these issues. Most of us do enjoy the hell out of DAMP, and are not trying to be hose beasts trolls who just like to complain. I am so happy you added the MP portion to this game, and I think the future possibilities of it can add a whole new level to it all.
Thank you, drive thru.
BTW, ME3 rules!
It's, in my view, less about whether the weekly changes actually addressed problems and more about making it clear that there's an active dev presence. In ME3, the constant stream of stuff at least gave me (sometimes false) hope that things were being addressed. Here, by contrast, there're some pretty severe issues with the game and the devs' near radio silence isn't exactly encouraging.
Perhaps because ME3 had plans to stream stuff on regular basis in contrast to DAMP. Perhaps they think they are smart by keeping quiet, but they are wrong. I already made arrangements to move to spend my time on another title, exactly because of this silence and because of my experience with such silence from Bioware/EA - SWTOR.
