I never actually did that DLC. I like Morrigan and all, but by the time it came out I had moved on from DAO. I have it so I might play it down the road but it doesn't do much for me. Is Alistair in it? Do I get any extra Ali content? If not.... meh.

Not sure, I was more interested in Zevran at the time. The DLC was about hunting down Morrigan and the OGB, my female warden just didn't give a damn about her...from what I recall I stabbed Morrigan just to get my money's worth.

No cherry pinking, don't be selfish.

I don't care for the other characters so much. They didn't contribute to the story as much...if at all. I played my first pt without black wall and Vivienne because I didn't even know they existed. Didn't change the story for me even when I included them next run around. (Kinda sad actually) but Solas is the main interest.

Even if you don't care, it doesn't mean other people don't. Try to remember that.

Well this is a Solas Romance page...perhaps some others might share your opinion. I, however, do not.

Not saying that it should matter that much, I just try to keep the context within OPs original subject. Which happens to be Solas and continuing his romance.

I would like a DLC that doesn't just add new content at the end of the game but expands on what's already there. The romances in DA:I don't feel like relationships to me. It's bad enough that I have to make the first move each and every time but outside of 2-3 cutscenes and perhaps 4 conversation the relationship might as well not exist.

Why can't my LI move into my chambers? My bed is big enough.

Why doesn't my LI draw me to the side as we return to Skyhold and just gives me a hug, happy to see me back healthy?

Why don't the conversations change more?

Why aren't there more reactions from my companions and other NPCs regarding my changed relationship status? At least Josephine should comment on it, as she's basically my PR manager.

Why can't I just hang out with my LI?

etc.

Yes, this shouldn't distract from the actual story in the game but I prefer things to be done right, if they are done at all.

Agreed. I like your idea of Josephine approving/disapproving of an LI based on how it will affect the inquisitor's image.

Bioware did a lot of boasting about the complexity of relationships in DAI before its release, but the structure doesn't seem to have changed much (if at all) from earlier games/ME. As long as you pass a couple bench marks, choose a flirty remark now and then, you can initiate a romance.

How about a little cat and mouse? Why not ask me out, make me some dinner, get jealous, take me on a magic carpet ride...? I'm the inquisitor for frack's sake!

Yes, it's not a complete romance, much less a relationship. It's barely enough for an one-night stand.

ME had the advantage of being a real trilogy centered on the same protagonist, so you actually had developments on the romantic front. Tali growing up and finally admitting that she always had a crush on Shephard, for example.

You see, your mission to create emotionally engaging content? Nailed it. My emotional investment borders on unhealthy.

Huh. This is the least invested I've been in a game since Far Cry 3. The characters are too irritating and irrelevant to the story. And after 50 hours of fetch quests, it's hard to remember anything about them anyway.

It depends how investing you were in the first place I guess. I had such low expectations after DA2 but I was thoroughly impressed with the depth of the companions in DAI. Solas' character is shrouded in mystery and its toxic.

He is one of the better characters. There's no payoff to all the mystery though, no arc for his character. He's basically the same vague dude in the end of the game as he was in the beginning. I was bored. There aren't really arcs for any of the characters except Cassandra.

And here's to hoping they will continue his character in either DLC or perhaps another game entirely...but I have a really bad feeling that they will make him the bad guy...I mean other than Tevinter/The Qunari, what other places or people are a threat to Thedas?

I'm not too thrilled about having to pay for the finish of a character's story. The fact that we still don't really know anything about him or his motivations (i.e. his potential to be the bad guy) indicates he wasn't properly fleshed out in the game.

How else would they milk money out of people :(. Makes me mad too...
