Attempt at a pretty dwarf - an exercise of min-maxing sliders.

So as the title says I wanted to see if I could create a pretty dwarf. Quite the experience.

I have to hand it to anybody who can do a half-attractive dwarf. The CC fights you all of the way.

You may not believe the amount of min-maxing I had to do on the sliders to counteract all the bulbous facial features, but I'm pretty happy with the result.

The eyes in the editor are so plain that I ended up using "Asian looking" eyes and stretched them out as far as I could.

Hey I'd date her if she grew a couple of feet taller.

The basic build comes from my elf:

I did it for the challenge so I probably won't actually use it.

With the dwarves i think these 'bulbous features' are part of their racial identity/charm. Not really something to counteract.

I rather like my first female Cadash, though I haven't finished her game yet:

Exactly, just like elves have certain facial features as well. What's the point of having multiple races if they all look human?

Here's my dwarf. I think she's pretty, but she still retains charming dwarven features.

I totally agree. The character in the OP's picture is definitely pretty, but she barely looks dwarven.

Is that.. a dwarf? Wauw.. I'm impressed. Good job. I haven't had time to play around with the dwarves in CC yet, but now I just might.

Yeah, it's one of the issues I have with some of the Dwarfs in the Hobbit.

I'm not sure how Dwarfish my girl looks since I based her off a human(minus the yellow eyes), but she at least has a largish nose. :)

I've tried and failed multiple times to create a decent dwarf with the CC. I just can't make them look dwarfy enough for my liking. Not like in the first game, at least. They constantly end up looking like remarkably short humans. :(

Some pretty dwarves have turned up on this thread.

Hehe I see you went with the bearded female dwarf. I have to respect that decision!

Yours is cute I must say.

Thank you. You might find it hard if you're used to creating elves and humans.

I actually didn't intend to make a pretty face for my character Suni, rather going for a realistic face that didn't necessarily have to be pretty, but the result was far prettier than any female faces I have created in Bioware games...

What is dwarfy looking? Or elfy looking? I try to pretty much make all of my characters look human--human is what we find attractive after all. I mean, Kili from the Hobbit is the "attractive" dwarf because he basically looks human, right?

Yeah, but sometimes what is attractive to us personally isn't what we're going for when we make a character. I like to make homely or otherwise average looking faces sometimes just for a chance of pace. Also, I find the rather more angular facial features of elves attractive, as well as the rounder and more prominent features of the dwarves. The differences between the races are subtle, but they are there. If they weren't, the OP wouldn't have had such a hard time with the CC.

He's "attractive" because he isn't turned into a caricature and butt of shallow jokes like most of the dwarf cast. It's not even the facial features but the ridiculous wigs and/or beards on the others that skew the picture, combined with silly mannerisms.

Also, we aren't limited to only finding human features attractive -- in fact, the "attractive" characters often have features which are in some ways altered from regular human looks. Consider very popular anime style as example, or how many people drooled over Na'vi from the Avatar.

Okay, so I made another attempt at a "dwarfy" dwarf, and... I guess she turned out okay. Still doesn't match what I had in my head, but the CC doesn't allow for the adjustments I needed to make. Also, are dark brown/black eyes too much to ask for, Bioware? -_-

If you want to do black eyes, make sure that you get to the slider to the lower left as much as possible, not lower right.  Works well for eye makeup too.  :)

I suppose that is true for some. However, this topic is titled "attempt at a pretty dwarf," so the OP is at least interested in making a hot piece of dwarven a**.

For me, my first two characters are conventionally attractive because I enjoyed the challenge.

I think it is genuinely challenging to make a an attractive female character, as this post implies, though based on my experience with the CC so far, I would say that human and dwarf are actually the easiest. Elf and qunari are much more difficult. I had no real interest in role-playing a qunari, but when I heard people saying it is impossible to create a conventionally attractive female qunari (by Western cultural standards), I decided to step up to the plate. I managed to succeed, I think.

I do have a set of "homely" characters saved on my other Xbone profile. I really enjoy messing with the CC now that I've got some experience with it. But the only requests for sliders I get are for my attractive PCs.

(Would love to create Hugh Laurie character. Wonder if that's possible.)

This is my first character, Garnet Cadash.  I loved playing her, and I'm going to miss her until DLCs come out.  I thought she turned out very well.

One of the best little details about dwarves that I find is the fact that they have put the attention and effort into making them turn their heads and look upwards whenever they speak to anyone but another dwarf. This is propably the most common look on my dwarfs face:
