Have you activated push-to-talk? That may be what's causing it. Or it could be that your computer hasn't registered the microphone. Does it work when using other systems, like skype?

I fear the game may not support certain headset manufacturers and models. The EA Technical Support board has a few brief inquiries without any real solutions. Seems headsets work or they don't.

I have a Logitech H800 headset that will not be recognized by DAI on my laptop, as well as, my desktop pc systems. I can have the headset working properly in Windows, and even ME3MP, but DAI never sees it. As there are no AUDIO settings to pick or direct the software on what microphone/speakers to use as there was in ME3MP, if it doesn't work, you're simply out of luck.

I would be interested in users publishing which headsets work and which don't.

I'll start:

LOGITECH H800 Wireless - DOES NOT WORK.

There are no answers, only questions.

I had two drivers for the headset installed on my computer. One seemed to have come with Nvidia driver update. It seemed to prevent any voice chat functionality (mic and headphones) - in-game sound effects all worked, though. I uninstalled them and the mic started working for hearing and speaking.

In ME3 you had the option of choosing which audio interfaces you wanted for input/output. DAI doesn't, so that's a bit of an issue (it seems to go for the defaults, but it's sometimes haphazard). Like ME3, even when Push To Talk is set, it's still seems to be gated by the autodetection code, so you need to make sure you have your mic set at a high enough gain level (usually higher than any other regular app). Note that in-game, you can still mute others (default key 'v' or click your center Portrait Icon on your toolbar), which is a 2-way mute.

My Logitech headset mic doesn't work either. It did when there was no PTT function, but not anymore since PTT is bound to ctrl. It works on TS though.

And I noticed a sound bug too. MP sound failed to work for the third time mid game in approx. 200 games (not that big a problem :)). I have to restart the game when this happens.

I'm a newbe to this multi player - where do you set this "push to talk".? Do I just basically need to plug in a headset and I'm ready to go? I didn't have a mic plugged in yesterday, but I did hear some guy say in a defeated tone, "put up a barrier before you do that".

By default push to talk is enabled. Ctrl is the normal  hotkey. Go to options, audio, and choose between push to talk, voice activatd, or off. Go to options, keybindings, and scroll all the way down to change from Ctrl to something else if you want.

If you want to raise or lower microphone volume, go to windows, bottom right corner, right click volume icon, recording devices, doubleclick device, levels tab. Can set to 80-100%, and lower if people tell you your mic is too loud or they can hear your computer fans if you are using voice activated.

I am having the same issue with the logitech h600. It really sucks because I just bought them earlier tonight because i thought my daughter broke my old ones. Which are a turtle beach ear force z1. Both are fairly big name brands. You would think that someone in the tech department over there would try to fix such things. Going to try to get a hold of tech support. I have tried everything i can find on the web and the mic just won't work but the headphones work great. Would be nice if maybe there was a post on which sets of headphones DO work, so a person can play the MP in something other than a pug.
