CEREBUS NETWORK ISSUE: Frozen at the please wait screen

After installing and starting Mass Effect, the press any button screen comes up.  When I press any button a Cerebus Network screen appears and prompts me to continue or cancel.  No matter which button I press, a please wait screen comes up, stops there, and doesn't do anything.  When I try to go online and enter my Cerebus network code into the redeem code page here, the site tells me that the code has been used already (and it has not!).

Does anyone know what the problem may be?  Is there anything I can do to get a Cerebus code that DOES work?

Thanks,

El

No it isn't the firewall, I don't even keep one on and am having a similar issue.

I'm sure the EA/Bioware Servers are just having load issues right now.

Having the same issue. I haven't tried cancelling it yet, but it does hang at the loading message when I try to log into my EA account in-game.

I'm having the same problem. My guess is login overload as well. It is release day after all. How many units have sold for the PC? Probably quite a bit.

bah... online activation (drm) I got the same problem. I tried both Steam's launcher and the ME2's launcher. The game still hangs indefinately trying to log into EA online. I can log into EA online using their webpage fine too.

Stuck on the "Please Wait..." screen as well :F My guess is the server is overloaded or sth, its not a firewall issue since I pretty much ruled that one out by killing the firewall.

Same problem. Why on earth did they decide to use such an extremely bloated system? Can't they just use steam for these types of things. Very disappointed with bioware.

What the hell? I was going crazy at work, I finally got everything installed, and now I can't log in. Yay. I agree, servers are probably overloaded... but I still feel like I just got the short end of the stick.
