By the time you get the Keeper robes, you are most likely near the end of your playthrough... I'm hoping that the black emporium will have these RNG rare schematics like the Dalsih Warrior.

Oh, I seriously hope so. Too bad it's not a rare drop, so you can't farm it, either. Would love to use it already in Haven. The only thing that really bugs me in the keeper robe is the fact that you can't use boots. I just hate to see my elf with almost bare feet, especially in snow. It just really rubs me the wrong way.  :pinched:

I just got the Dalish Warrior armor from a chest in the Chateau d'Onterre. Not that I have any use for it. I wish the keeper robe schematic would be buyable or possible to get from a chest, instead of from a freaking dragon, though.

honestly now that have it, it's not that special, it looks atrocious stylistically (Female Version, they should have copied Merrill's romanced outfit), and outside of the armor rating, the previous set I made called the Fade Walker armor was much more powerful stat wise.

Yeah, it's definitely not the most powerful one but I kinda like how it looks, especially with proper colors... well, except for the bare feet, of course. And I've used/crafted the battlemage mail and battlemage armor to the point that they're getting boring. I really hope we get completely new armors in the BE.

its funny im doing my elf playthrough again now, didn't find it on my first, so far not on this one but on my human run  found it, yet on my old elf run I found the inquisitor helm schematic my human warrior wanted, its like it reverses the odds for me when I don't need the item, I find it

I personally really liked the look of the Dalish Warrior one in DA2 and was glad to hear it's in Inquisition. It looked great on my female elf once, too bad I couldn't find it with another. Maybe the Emporium will help, eventually.

@DreamSever: Read something similar here on the forums regarding Warrior/Rogue/Mage schematics. You always seem to find the ones you don't need for your own class, almost like it's on purpose.

I know it's not a jaw dropping armor, but it has a unique look.In my opinion elven armors are the best looking in this game.  Every armor that doesn't look like a COAT is a winner for me.

I don't think it's on purpose. This RNG system is the worst thing I've come across in an RPG. The drops have absolutely no logic at all. Totally random... The Dalish warrior armor might have a 5% chance of dropping while some crappy coat that is worthless junk has a 30% chance of dropping.

You'll also notice that sometimes it feels like it's set in stone from the start of the game. I played an elf character and by the time I reached level 11, I have found a LOT of schematics. After that I rolled a human mage, but by the time I reached level 11 again, I had like 5 armor schematics.

You shouldn't farm for the Dalish warrior schematic at the Still Ruins because that place is full of mixed-tier and tier 3 chests, and the Dalish warrior schematic is a tier 2 schematic. It's not gonna show up in a tier 3 chest. Plus you gotta run around so much and waste a lot of time. I got mine at a tier 2 chest in the hinterlands by save scumming in one spot.

The best place, imo, is near where you first encounter missing scout/agent Ritts. There is a tower nearby with a bridge. While facing the bridge, on your right side are a bunch of boulders/rocks. There is a unique looking chest to the side of those rocks. Save-scum there. You can just stand right in front of it and reload to get it to RNG. No need to run around or exit the map or anything. I got all my tier 2 schematics from that one chest. If you haven't emptied that one yet go try your luck there.

Could you post a screenshot of the map/location perhaps?

How much time did it take till you got it ?

If you want to farm for tier 2 schematics in the Hinterlands the better choice is the chest at the back of the Redcliff chantry.  Their are several tier 2 schematics worth picking up in addition to the Dalish warrior armor (carta armor, hunter coat legs, battlemage cowl etc ).  If the chest does pop a schematic you want then its just a simple matter of zoning out and back in to start the process all over again.  The chest by Lornan's Exile isn't near any zones and the closest camp is Dwarfson's pass. You waste a tone of time just running back and forth.  Honestly the Still Ruins are the better option, that is where I picked the Dalish Warrior armor up at after about an hour of save scumming at the various chests.  The tier 3 chests are restricted to the back right room that contains the tier 3 materials and the triangle shaped chest in the back left.  All other chests in the Still Ruins are tier 2.

Good luck getting the Warrior armor I only managed to pick it up on my 8th playthrough after hours of trying on the previous 7.

id farm haven or the hinterlands chest near winterwatch tower, ive gotten it in haven once but I wasn't an elf :(

I woudlve loved the scout armor and keeper robe to be random too, hate having to wait to get decent armor for the elf and I don't really want to be a warrior elf just for that armor, the scout one looks best on males anyway but again you don't get it till hissing wastes and that's about 50-70% near endgame

they should've done every schmatic randomly imo, sure you can abuse it by farming but I get it earlier in game

You can now buy all RNG schematics from The Black Emporium.

EDIT: But RNG schematics for weapon upgrades & armor attachments are not available for purchase.

You were so close to fixing this problem BioWare. Soooo cloooose. :(

Was about to check if the Emporium had these, but it's still not out for me. Thank you, those are great news!

It does! I was so tired of trying to find that Dalish one in the tomb. So glad it's there and pretty cheap to purchase too! Most of them are, but some can get a bit expensive. More than the Hissing Wastes merchant.

Does the BM sell the other dalish schematics as well? Be nice if its possible to buy the keeper robes schematics instead of having to rush to kill the 10th dragon.

BM only sells the schematic if it's RNG only and not already available in another store, as loot, or as a quest reward.

(But keep in mind, BM only sells RNG schematics for weapons, shields, helms, and armor BUT not armor attachments or weapon upgrades.)

I usually buy the Keeper robe from the lady at the Dalish camp in the Exalted Plains after I earned enough favor with the Dalish, and you can get another robe free if you do the quest to find the elf woman's brother.

If you're just going for the looks, you can buy/loot the armor as stated above. If you don't like the color, the item tinter is there for you. It will look like you crafted it yourself.

The only color difference on the Warrior schematic are on the shoulderpads, the rest stays gold/green. I've seen screenshots of colored Dalish mage robes though.

You could probably tint it black with Great Bear Hide.
