So I have put in nearly 50 hours into the multiplayer with me and one friend, and since we can not search for a party as a group we always try hosting the game. If I host it, since i have the far better connection out of the two, most times we sit in the lobby for 5-10 minutes before anyone joins after setting it to public. However if he makes a game with out me on public it fills in 10-30 seconds. I have painstakingly tried to get all the proper ports forewarded incase that was the issue and I have a fully Open Nat now. I honestly have no idea why we always have 10 minutes lobby times.  Any help would be appreciated. Playing on Xbox One by the way.

Thanks!

A friend and I have a similar issue. Sometimes, no one ever joins and we'll just two man it until boss where the rest join. Other times entire nights of lonely comradary. Then there's the times where there's no chance to even play together because the lobby fills in 10 seconds.

Did you try turning it off and back on again?

Should try opening the ports for the game on your router.   It might help.

yeah, noticed that too.  sometimes waiting for a while for players to join, other times they join under 1 min.

This does happen.

TBH, I have found if you just start as a twosome, then, for the most part, the other spots will fill quickly. I guess it prioritizes the match for other players searching, or some such.

So the above advice does not work? You say you have ports open and NAT Open. You see the NAT as Open in X1 network settings or you set it open on your router together with forwarding stated ports to X1? Do you have public IP? Did you check, from PC, that stated ports are indeed open on your IP?

I have this problem too - especially when you start a game alone. Nobody even enters the lobby. I've completed an entire threatening run solo while waiting for someone to join me.

Had this problem in ME3. Some people had no problems, others(like myself) found only a handful of players able to join my lobby in a search.

People always attributed it to Origin but I don't know. Firewall, Router holes, etc... none helped.

I had similar problems, with FIFA too, and eventually they were attributed to the quality of my connection and settings of my hardware. I would try to eliminate everything else first. Twice. There are tools online to check "how internet sees particular IP" which then can help with identifying the problem.

If I host I just start the game. I think this puts you closer to the top for priority sorting. It could just be my imagination. If I just sit there it takes FOOOREEEVER. If I just start then people start dropping in pretty fast.

I don't even wait anymore. Just start the game and someone normally pops in after a few minutes.

Playing on Xbox One by the way.

Probably not as bad as PC.

Then again, it might be that I just play at very odd hours (I'm a night shifter) when everyone is asleep.

The key that I learned from ME3 MP is to make new friends along the way. Play with some really cool person for a few matches in a row? Add him/her! Your friend's list will fill up quick with cool people to invite to a lobby. No more PUGs!
