All of a sudden my DAI log-in screen (which I really liked) is now infected with an add for multiplayer. Has anyone figured out what to do with or about this development?

Its an add for the multiplayer because there is an event or something, big deal.

Yeah, they've had the real big chunky ad for multiplayer in there a while now on the main menu screen.

What I find funny about that ad is it suffers from the SLI/Crossfire texture bug. So it flickers.

This gives the impression that the multiplayer is shoddy, the exact opposite of what I expect was intended.

The ad for th 'pack' appeared a while ago, lasted for a few days, then disappeared without me doing anything. I haven't seen this latest one, but I assume/hope the same thing will happen in a couple of days.

Its probably there for the duration of the weekend event and will reappear with the next one.

*scratch's head* I haven't seen any advertising or mention's of the multiplayer in my client. I load the game up and get the standard start-up screen, select "Load Game" and off I go.

 

For those who are getting the MP prompting/advertising.. a question - have you played any MP yourself?

 

I ask because I have never done any MP in DAI, and haven't even clicked on the MP option in the menu. I'm wondering if that is why I am not getting anything about MP but you are.

I think you only see it if you play MP. I've not seen any ads. I was wondering what the point of the 'Click to continue" screen was and I guess now I know.

I've been dealing with this one for a while now, and I don't see any way to turn it off. I haven't even played Multiplayer yet (don't think I'm going to), I just went in to claim my chests from the Deluxe Edition.

Nope never played MP haven't got Xbox Gold anyway. The add started about two weeks ago saying that I had a free chest if i played MP that stayed until this weekend when it changed for an add for the live event or some such. I've just ignored it as I have no intention of playing MP.

I had this before the patch even came out. It was only there for a short while. I thought it was weird.

No, it doesn't I haven't created a multiplayer character, and I saw it all weekend.

 

It didn't bother me, but It's not targeted.

I've played MP but havent seen it. Have been frequently playing in offline mode with origin in-game disabled

I had a similar infection (haven't launched the game today to see if it cleared up).

 

Having never even touched multiplayer, it's annoying to see that tasteless junk clog up the screen.

 

Turn that **** off, BioWare.

This is exactly what happened to me too. I think EA is using it as a vehicle to advertise.

Frankly I don't even mind the idea of it - they do make money from MP DLC - but the ad is just so undebatably obnoxious. It's ugly, like someone put a sticker on my screen.

I don't think anyone is angry. Annoyed would be a better word. If you like to sit at the title screen, and listen to the music while the mages and templars march, it's pretty distracting.
