I don't think you really want to go that route, since slavery was legal and only white men could vote or own property. Probably should get another line of attack.

They did leave room for the constitution to be amended, which has since been resolved. ^_^

I said some aspects not all of them and all of the rights the founders came up with were very ground breaking for the time.

Then some aspects of Social Justice Warriordom are fine, and some are stupid, like making the actions of a few characters in a video game a call to arms.

You really think something is going to get accomplished here?  /boggle

It sets a precedence , at first it starts with small talk then we move on to thinking we can silence big issues.

Just because i dislike what someone says does not mean i have a right to make him stop saying it. People died for our right to free speech , whilst i do not support hate speech i would not stop even a hate group from talking.

And a Bill of Rights, but only after four years of debate after the Constitution was written. Yes, it is a marvelous document especially for its time, but to present it as a nearly flawless work of art more than 200 years later written by men with entirely selfless motivations shows a lack of knowledge about the process of writing and ratifying the Constitution.

I'm all for more choices in games so having the option to do so with an approval drop would have been fine with me. That much we can also agree on.

Then I shall send it to Josephine to ratify in my stead. I'm going hunting for any more idiots who'll oppose me in the game....as soon as I can kick my brother off the xbox so I can play.  :D

And yet, Cullen continues to not be real. It is very likely a riff of Cullenites however, since Cullen is still not real, wouldn't you also have to apply the same scrutiny to that scene as you do to the forum thread itself?

Ive got nothing against the scene with Cullen , ive got something against the fact that when its a female character all of the sudden forums and tumblr go into overdrive due to objectification or w/e , if its male instead of female , people say ' laugh it off its not real'.

Do video games have a different effect on women than men? I mean noone really makes a fuss when its done in movies or tv. but in games its a nono.

Again nothing vs the scene just the hypocracy of people who say it affects women but not men

And if it was, would that be such a problem? There is a double standard, but the only reason why people treat double standards like this big taboo is because society's still high on that bullshit lie:

"All Men are Created Equal." -This, this is the biggest lie on the face of the planet, and what's funny is the evidence to the contrary is all around us. All men are not created equal. We are not the same. Men and women aren't so different that we cannot understand each other, but there are many differences, physically and mentally, though sometimes the differences are over-exaggerated.

Frankly, if it was a female character who'd been receiving the same amount and type of attention for five years, I very likely wouldn't give a **** either.

If it were Cassandra, I most certainly would want an option to tell them to **** off, because by then you're romantically involved. And even if not, again, the situation just isn't the same always for men and women, even though Cassandra is tough as nails.

If we see a bunch of women clawing and pawing at a man, he's cool because he's got the pick of the litter. The opposite happens and we start worrying that things seem rapey. It's a natural reaction we have because it's simply different when applied to members of the opposite sex.

It goes back to what I said earlier about biology and evolution. Unwanted sexual attention from a female for a man doesn't come with much risk, even if you do somehow manage to be raped by her. For a woman however, a rape comes with a possible hit to your health, leaving you vulnerable for nine months and can even mean death. Biology is why we have this double standard. This isn't a hypocrisy because the two situations aren't the same.

The point I'm trying to make is that the whole "Cullen at the Ball" situation is a wink and a nod to the Cullen fans. Say Cassandra had been introduced in Origins as a one-off character and a mostly male fanbase became attached to her, and were then finally able to romance her in Inquisition. If the lines she was getting were in line with what was in those forum threads (and really, what Cullen gets is pretty mild in comparison to what's in his threads) then yes, I'd laugh it off as wink and a nod to those fans.

I'm in no way saying that there isn't an imbalance, I'm saying that it's about context.

Ah I see what you're saying. You mean that the devs were poking fun at the fans by representing them with the douchebag Orlesians, and if they did the same with Cassandra, it'd be funny too.

Lol it did seem like that was a little nod to the fans, which makes them getting mad about this rather ironic.

Well, I did say "wink and a nod" not "poking fun" and "fans" not "douchebag Orlesians" but otherwise, yeah.
