Was anyone else bothered by the nobles' treatment of Cullen at the ball?

True, true. But in that instance, it's sometimes because they're afraid to bring it up for some reason. I as a guy think for men, we just simply wouldn't care. It's just a different dynamic.

Women could cat call at men in the street if they wanted to. We wouldn't care. Do the reverse, and a lot of women find it gross and inappropriate, though of course not all. How many guys do you think are gonna say "Omg I'm so disgusted, that woman said she wanted to sleep with me and wear me out like a new saddle." ?

Lol, all of you! Deep down inside that secret place where you hide all your anguish and pain at being treated like nothing more than a chunk of man-meat.  :P

I’m not sure why it’s so difficult to see that nobody really took offense to the inclusion of the scene, or demanded it be removed etc. It clearly has a place in the story. Just as the killings and deep road kids and whatnot, this is a Bad Thing that was included. It’s fine.

The only thing in which I’m personally disappointed are the comments that trivialize the occurrence, because they obviously reflect a real-world position. That’s not cool. Harassment is harassment. That’s all.

(Also, more people are probably capable of relating on a personal level to sexual harassment than decisions about leaving children to be eaten by evil zombie creatures. Guess which is more commonplace in our experience?)

Or maybe its because they know is a VIDEO GAME! and most people dont sit around waiting to be offended my something trivial like a game npc getting "harassed".

First World Problem: Game NPC butt gets touched Tumbr SJW outraged!!

Actually, I remember an instance just like this that happened to me when I was 12. You all read this and tell me how a woman would react.

I was forced to go to this boring ass movie about some church drama with my mother, grand aunt and grandmother, and I sat at the back of the theater alone so I could sleep. That is until a pack of noisy girls came walking up to sit behind me. They were giggling n' **** in my ear, really loud and not subtle at all in what they were talking about. One of them whispered in my ear that she thought I looked like I was packing. Which, being 12 I didn't know what that meant, and she gladly told me.

Then about thirty minutes later, one of them threw their bra at me, and it wasn't exactly skimpy, lol, because it belonged to the one that was a bit more healthy, shall we say. I didn't mind, I liked the attention even though I wasn't really attracted to her. It's just a bra, and when they asked for it back, I gave it to them and laughed it off.

I had a good time because they turned what was supposed to be a boring evening into a fun one. How many women here can say they'd react the same way in a similar instance in reverse with a bunch of dudes?

edit: When I say healthy, I don't just mean chunky either. I like chunky chicks. She wasn't that.

Bahahahaha. So are you asking if my 12 year old self would be all good with a guy throwing his underwear at me or a girl throwing her bra at me? Are we switching sexes in this situation because I am female?

Edit: Whoops, I failed at reading your entire post. Sorry.

If anything I would have thought they were weird and would have been all "ewwww" at having smelly boy underwear sitting in my lap or on my face or where ever it landed. A bra wouldn't of bothered me as much though, not because it would have been a girl throwing it but because it hasn't been all over someones V or D.  ^_^

I don't see why I can't feel both uncomfortable and amused at the same time here. I thought this was hilarious, but I also wanted to punch a few nobles in the face. Am I supposed to only feel discomfort and not laugh? Because I laugh at serious matters quite often, and it is not an attempt to dismiss or diminish the gravity of the situation either. I'm not really sure what the point of this thread is, honestly.

I get the sense that you may be a little different :P lol. But yea, I don't think that, 12 years old or 20 years old of 40 years old, most women would appreciate men doing the equivalent of that. One woman by herself in a dark theater trying to sleep while four obnoxious dudes talk about her body and so on.

Pretty sure the people here would call that very creepy and inappropriate. But to me, I didn't mind at all. Men and women are different.

There really isnt (then again here i am posting in this thread) its just another self centered people throwing their weight around "I find this offensive so you must be offended to. If your not your a sexual harassment enabler!".

Eh, I have some friends that feel the same as me but they have also had a lot of male influence in their lives, but yeah, the majority wouldn't feel the same and that is cool, everyone is different. I guess it all depends on a persons limits and obviously the majority of males have a different opinion to woman on what consists as sexual harassment. The whole thing is pretty subjective really.

At the end of the day, this thread is stupid considering people should be more concerned with all the needless death in the game rather than Cullen getting a pat on the ass and a handful of compliments thrown his way. "You're so handsome when you smile, Commander." "He is handsome when he doesn't." *shudders* How harrowing. That night at the ball is definitely going to replace all those nightmares he has about Kinloch Hold.  :P

And that really is the bottom line. Honestly, the thread should have ended pages ago on that note, but then some people had to get all Tumblr about it.

Hell, Witcher didn't even have to do anything to get complaints. Some SJW chick made youtube videos talking about how the game promotes rape from that "Killing Monsters" video. She thought they were going to gangrape the woman when they were actually about to kill her. Lol, not that this is better, but it is rather humorous how killing is A okay, but sexual assault's what gets all the attention. To the point that it's fabricated.

Well then, you have no one else to blame but yourself, tsk tsk. :P

Also, I feel rather ignorant. What is all this SJW and tumblr talk. I don't even know what SJW stands for (obviously, I know what tumblr is).

Social Justice Warriors.

"Cullen may be a man, and a soldier and can take it, but I'LL be offended on his behalf!"

That's typically the response of an SJW. Tumblr's a breeding ground for this.

As a man no I wasn't uncomfortable at all because I live in a world where I can say no to unwelcome advances, also as a father of girls (because I know the "it's not the same for women" argument is coming) I cannot control what a man with bad intentions could do when I'm not around, what I can do is prepare my daughters to defend themselves and not expect society to do it for them. They each know 4-5 chokeholds and multiple joint locks.

While this is nice and all... in the idea of the story, I'm using him and the other members of the Inquistion as a devergence to prevent an assassination attempt on a Empire leader.

If all it takes is getting my 'mens' asses pinched a few times and getting flirted with, quite frankly, I'm cool with that. I'm not there to correct a society and there veiws on sexual harrassment, and the like. I'm there preventing a world being overrun by demons.

Think about history, there have been plenty of mena nd women who had to go though alot of sexual harassment just to help stop some of the most evil people the world has seen. How many women used there body to get put into a position so that they could be a better spy. And here is a intresting question, how many men had to enter into a relationship because of the same reasons. Sadly everyone thinks "Male Spy" = James Bond, thats not how reality works. They are there to do a job, distract the locals from noticing me brining an army into the castle. If the smallest amount of sexual harassment is getting hit on, and getting your butt pinched, so be it.

That is not saying that sexual harassment is "Okay" to do. its just in the game context, the least of my problems at hand. Tring to find an assassin vs protecting Cullens ass, I'm going to always pick find the assassin first.

Edit: I mean can you really say with a stright face that, you let the Queen die because you where trying to prevent women from grabbing his butt? I'm sure Cullen would be pissed off at you for doing that. He knows the stakes, he also knows he is not swauve enough to tell them no without offending them. So he puts up with it for the sake of the mission. And I salute him for it... I laugh that he can't handle that sort of attention.

If I have daughters, I'm going to cut the middle man and just get them licenses to carry for a worst case scenario. It is different for women, but that doesn't mean run around being afraid of your own shadow or overreacting. If this was Cassandra and not Cullen, I in character would be looking to man handle the one who touched her ass right off a balcony, but would it bother me enough to make a thread about it? Lol, no.
