Im a little confused now
Preordered DA:I, party banters every 20-40min
dont play it a while
Installed the new patches (for more party banters ^^), installed the walk-fix, no partybanter in 2h
I think this programm here cant affect this?

Party banter is influences by many variables. If you played before and then go to the same level (like Hinterlands) with the same party as before, maybe they ran out of things to talk about. Change your party, change the location...

PS: But of course I cannot sit idly by when there is a concern like this, so I did a bit of testing...
a) I quick-traveled through the map to the Stormcoast, camp in the middle, Cassandra, Cole, Sera, a team which I never played with and not on the Stormcoast neither. I traveled along the small river towards east, where the a rift is located through and behind a spider cave. I fought the spirits and closed the rifts.
Cheat engine was running, walking-script v5h1 was active. NO BANTER the whole time for ~30min.
b) I quick-traveled through the map to the Stormcoast, camp in the middle, Cassandra, Cole, Sera, a team which I never played with and not on the Stormcoast neither. I traveled along the small river towards east, where the a rift is located through and behind a spider cave. I fought the spirits and closed the rifts.
Cheat engine was OFF. I even restarted the game. NO BANTER the whole time for ~35min.
c) I traveled using the War Room table, same party, Stormcoast (doesn't let you pick the camp this way)
Cheat engine was running, walking-script v5h1 was active. Cole started a banter after 5 minutes of my arrival there.
So there you have it. Party banter still seems to be a mystery, but it does seem to malfunction - not always I think - when quick-traveling through the map and not via War Room table. Sucks, but has nothing to do with the Cheat Engine. I'm quite relieved now tbh. If there was a critcal bug in the CE / walking script my holidays would be ruined, because being able to walk in DAI was the biggest gift I got this christmas lol.
This 118 pages topic should also represent the crazy state in which the whole banter system seems to be in even after 2 patches: http://forum.bioware...op-design-edit/
Look at the tipps people collected and the many crazy things they try to get this to work. It's really sad. -.-

I don't think I have ever encountered the banter bug across 2.5 playthroughs, but here's what I make sure:
- Never back out of the war table.
- Always play offline.
If I think it's glitched up, I just do the whole travel via war table, fast-travel to Val Royale "reset". However from experience, it all seems to be on my mind half the time - banter fires unexpectedly when I think it glitched. You notice that banter is turned off in certain areas, to allow for mission/area-specific banter.

This offline-play intrigues me: This is about the ingame setting for auto-login and sending data to the Keep, isn't it?
When I set both to off, can I send the data later? Because in 2...3 years, if I end up with no records in the Keep, I will probably regret that. Need something to import into DA4. ![]()

Not the ingame setting, actually I have Origin AND DAI offline at all times, except when I'm starting a new game - due to Dragon Age Keep. I just start, save, restart offline. The game seems to update when you do go online, like I unlocked 30-40 achievements all at once when I logged on in the main menu after my first playthrough to start my Qunari.
Also, in relation to the topic, if anything I'm hearing MORE banter than ever before with this mod, heck they seem to talk alot more when you're just walking around.

Yes, at first I couldn't recall it, but during my time in the southern swamp there were some very...vivid conversations between Blackwall and Vivienne. They were bitching at each other like crazy lol.
Was playing with the walk script v3h1 all the way through the swamp.

So I played for another two hours today, one solid hour of it at the Stormcoast and I traveled there via the war table. I got two or three conversations between my companions and two or three comments on the surroundings or certain locations, all of it with the walk script v5h1 active.
It definitely is the game which is at fault for no banter and until a patch arrives we have to use the workarounds available sadly. ![]()

The banter bug has to be related to the wartable/fast travelling options then, considering how this workaround works so well for so many people.
Funny because I can't say I've ever encountered it, since I travel via war table all the time anyway.

Dito. As someone who wanna immerse myself as much as possibly I usually traveled via war table, especially at the beginning, pre-patch. When first reports of this banter-bug surfaced I considered myself not affected because I already had many, many party banter in only 20 hours of playtime.
Now I know why. ^^
Audio is a big mess in DAI, in many ways. For instance I also frequently get the "battle music bug" when traveling back to Skyhold. Going to the war table and leaving it fixes that, too.
I hope Bioware will get this right with the next patch.

Well, the battle music bug is by all accounts caused by speed traveling from the war table.

And the banter bug by all accounts is fixed by speed traveling from the war table lol

So...we travel via war table to fix one bug which causes another? ....wahhhhh!
Well, it's stupid, but the game is still fun. As long as I can somehow integrate it into my whole "imersive" routine it's okay. Going to the war table to check on operations when I get back to Skyhold? Absolutely believeable.
But these other insane workarounds - travel to Val Royeaux, travel to somewhere else, or go to a camp, call the horse, mount, dismount, rest - gnaah! ![]()

Painful script.

Roccat Ryos Pro doesn't have a Caps Lock.
Painful script.
The hotkeys can be changed. I never tried but the tutorial should be in the link for the script in the FAQ.
Painful?

If you've any real suggestion, go say it directly at the author of the mod instead of posting a complain on a guy just try to share it to people.

I don't use the Keyboard UI because I have a x360 controller but appreciate you making this for us.
And since you used Cheat Engine to do it, can you please tell me if it's at all possible to turn the "press to scan" button to a toggle? I'd like to be able to run the item search with having to spam the button/key. This is the one thing that bugs me in the game, as I have to constantly press the L3 button to do it(L3 is also a chore to press and might even damage the stick if done too much). I know this is off topic but I had to ask.

You should ask over at the CE-forums. I didn't do neither the script nor the CE so your request will most likely go unheard. ![]()

I never said that GODzilla is bad or something, I know he is not a creator of this, I am just saying, that this script is awful, for me ofc. I hate things like this, when I need to modify A GAME with some script/tool, and what is most important - everytime when I want to play - to achieve something. I know there is no easier way to let us walk by now, but this is stupid, unreal, immersive-breaking, but because of TRYING to walk, not because of walk.If you've any real suggestion, go say it directly at the author of the mod instead of posting a complain on a guy just try to share it to people.
By the way, I didn't find how to change for example Caps Lock, Ctrl + H, it opens window with keys, there is none. Okay, added one, it works, but somehow I must hold this button. Also, my main speed is lower (I think 60-70 of 100), I couldn't change it, I've tried to check/uncheck options - no result, it works as it worked before, no changes. Button X do something, as I noticed. I want next structure - Always walk, Sprint with Shift, and some switch to always walk/run - THAT'S ALL, I love AC controls, it's amazing.
So, I just removed this sht. It reminds me about Skyrim and how many hours I spent on it with modding...And what in the end? A hole. I think I will not die because of no possibility of walk.

Since version 5 you set your hotkeys by opening up the script window via pressing Ctrl-Alt-L
Read the instructions on the mod author's post in the CE forum, you simply have to change the default preset to a custom one and modify the keys as you see fit.
By the way, instead of taking out your frustration with the game on a modder who gave PC gamers the ability to walk without a controller, your frustration should be towards Bioware for giving you a console port to begin with. The modder isn't paid for this FFS! Sheez

Speaking of which, Godzilla you might want to edit OP, Ctrl-H is no longer used.

It's ok, don't worry.
I was just trying to suggest you to give your feeback directly to the author because I doubt he lurk around here and we unfortunaly can't help you much.

I never travel by war table, besides the first time an area unlocks. Didn't know that was possible.
Banter is hit and miss for me, travelling the regular way.
Now, what if I war table travel to Storm Coast, say, and then travel to hinterlands using the map. WIll banter be broken again?
I have no real interest in a walk feature but it's awesome that CE can get it there for those who do want it. I'm curious though about the walk/jog/run thing. Is jog the vanilla speed? If so I may want to try this for running. ![]()
