Use Charging Bull and the chain+upgrade on your warriors that way you can disable Fiona almost all the time with knockdowns. Unless she is a boss? can't remember been siding with the mages for my last 3 playthroughs. Also I would recommend having only your tank on Fiona only while the rest of the group dispatch the rest so only Fiona is left standing at the end at which point it should be a very straight forward fight. Evade mechanics (Combat Roll, Evade, Fade Step) also help big time with the mages glyphs. Good luck.
