In all actuality, I would have preferred Felix over Dorian as a companion. I feel that the relevance to the plot would have been even deeper and you wouldn't really miss anything. You could work in the fact that Felix got the Blight after running from Alexius's attempt to blood magic him into being straight, along with his displeasure with the Venatori and Tevinter in general. Then add in all the timey whimey stuff and BOOM epic comrade with more believable reason to be there.

Alexius turning to blood magic ruins the character completely IMO.

He made history without resorting to the age old crutch of blood magic. He (and to a lesser extent Dorian) was just that good in the laboratory. But then he sold out when his son got blighted. Which isn't justifiable, but certainly understandable.

True, but my assertion was more in the vein of if you have to keep everything about Dorian. I liked his personal quest, but it in no way felt relevant to the main plot, but then again his recruitment kind of fit that bill. Either way, I would have liked Felix, if only so I could look at that Venatori mage outfit all the time.

Or, maybe the reason why Fiona pledge herself and her rebel mages to Alexius is because she has dementia.

1. Someone is using time magic right under her nose - one rift right outside the village and one inside the chantry.

2. Infiltrating her rebel group with his Venatori agent - not to mention they are from Tevinter! Fiona's own back group as a slave should have made her extra cautious about Tevinter.

3. Took and kill almost all the Tranquils under her care - that tiny hut is like 100m down the road from the tavern, its fill with human skull and book that explain what Alexius is doing to the Tranquils.

4. Banish Arl Teagen and kick people out of their houses - a king/queen offer her rebel mage group refuge and she kicked the king's/queen's uncle out of his own castle.

As a mage and a leader Fiona didn't suspect or feel that something weird is going on?

Seriously, either she is really that "thick" or its for story purposes.

I hate the whole time-magic thing. This is just my opinion, because it seems she gets away out of her bad actions Like " oh poor me tricked by the evil magister with his time-magic". Where as the Lord Seeker doesn;t even get that. I guess what I mean to say it seems like every excuse is made in game to hand wave her awful actions, to like the time-magic thing and the fact you can't judge her on anything.

Despite that time magic Fiona's decision to join the Tevinter Imperium is her own, and she wasn't enthralled by Alexius nor Alexius using blood magic to influence her like some people has pointed out. Fiona sold herself and her people to Alexius out of desperation, and she's stupid enough to allowing Alexius to throw Teagan and his men out of Redcliffe. What I hate when you side with the Rebel Mages most is the fact that you can't judge her, and she's basically got it off that easy, Fiona go back to wearing her plot armor and being untouchable.

Because the Inquisition understands Alexius' trickery was very real and everyone was fooled by it. The people of Redcliff are starting to leave because they really think Templars are going to burn Redcliff to the ground. Alexius has made all of them believe that Templars will attack, apart from Connor and an old man literally EVERYONE thinks the Templars will attack. The city guards are training to defend the city and you can hear in the background people talking about Alexius coming to their aid when they needed him him while their arl did nothing.

Here is an example. Everyone think the Templars will attack redcliff and everyone see that the arl did nothing about it.

You're probaly right. I always understood it has  that he used it to get to redcliffe right after the explosion and made the templar threat worse than it was. That she agreed. What I am trying to say it seems Fiona was given an out pretty much for her awful actions and there is really no way to call her out on it if you side with mages. Where as the Lord Seeker is just demonically possessed and you have to kill him.

*snip*

You realize that Most people already left when the Magister came, and many were evicted by Alexius, and the villagers who still in Redcliffe are either Mage's sympathizer or those who's afraid to leave fearing that the Apostate mages and the Templars will attack them. Also What can Teagan do when he and his soldiers is already evicted from the Redcliffe castle, and Fiona and her followers are too happy to throw their Ferelden's savior away while Alexius took control of the town. You already presume that Teagan was just going to sit on his ass if the Templars invading Redcliffe. Those soldiers you saw in the front gate didn't prepare to defend Redcliffe from the Templars, they were preparing to retake Redcliffe when Tegan returned.

btw the picture you show is not anyway near Redcliffe at all.

Where as the Lord Seeker is just demonically possessed and you have to kill him.

That is not really him, and the real Lord Seeker Lucius is still alive you'll discover that in Cass's personal quest.

Its the picture of someone talking outside of Redcliff regarding why they have left. The people of redcliff (the majority that is) think Templars will attack, so does Fiona and the mages. There is a rift that we close before entering Redliff, it distorts time before getting closed. Its shows mages defending Redcliff against a Templar attack. A group of Templars attacked and killed/wounded people of Redcliff and mages a like. The healer of town deliberately tells you that many are wounded and dead due to Templar attack and she hates Templars for it. The Arl did nothing to aid these people. You can talk with a guard inside Redliff, he tells you the guards are ready for templars. You are missing the event where the Templars have already attacked. Whether it was Alexius' doing or otherwise doesn't matter. People of Redcliff and the mages think an attack by a Templar horde is imminent and Alexius was the only one who offered aid at the time.
