Oil price is 55$ now. I think the world sucks completely now.

Massive economical problems:

- UK

- France

- Spain

- Russia

- Italy

- Spain

- Brasil

- Argentina

- USA

- AFRICA

etc.

Economical Stagnation:

- Japan

- Turkey

- Iran

- Swiss

- Most of the world

Social problems:

- Germany

- UK

- Sweden

- India

- USA

With this situation the only places you can go are:

- Canada

- New Zealand

- Australia

- China

- North or South Korea (depends on you)

- ARAB countries

- Tonga

- Antarctica

I was born on the part of the Earth which falls inside US territory, and it has been my home since. My living family members are here, but go back 2+ generations and they come from various parts of Europe and Russia. Still, I'm not sure where I'd go if things got bad enough that I had a compelling reason to leave, but I now have a passport good for 10 years, just in case. First choice would be English-speaking Canada, as I've always gotten along well with people I've met from those provinces, and the scenery and climate are what I'm used to.

I know well to beware the "grass is always greener" issue; some have posted here that, after visiting several lands, they find home isn't so bad after all. That's why I say it would have to be a compelling reason for me to leave, going beyond mere annoyance and minor inconvenience. This is the devil I know, in other words.

I was asked by an American once if Paris was the capital of Europe. Please don't be one of those people. :|

This is my main reason for wanting to leave 'Murica, and as soon as I have sufficient $$$ to do so, I'm OUT!

I'm American, left for Europe and don't regret it.

I like the US, but I prefer most European countries, especially when it comes to social security, politics and culture. I do visit my home country quite often though and consider myself American more than anything.

America is becoming/is garbage.  It's our own fault, but still.

That said YES if i had to, I would.  I guess I would prefer to live in the UK.  I LOVE accents...and every woman I meet having one? oh my god.....(although gun laws are very important to me)

I like being American and have no desire to leave and don't see it ever happening.

Jeff Daniels says it very well.

The grass is ALWAYS GREENER, I'm British and would love to move to america if I could, I just love the culture and lifestyle over there. Also those southern belle accents. *blush*

Also, Canada and Australia are easily further down the slope than the US.

Most English accents aren't that great.

The goofy accents you're hearing in Dragon Age are exaggerated too. Our posh people don't sound like that.

You're more likely to hear cockney or some other god-awful peasant accent rather than Keira Knightley here in England so I'd like to warn you in advance...

Give me Russian, Greek, Polish or French accents any day of the week.

With the world in it's current state, it's not surprising that it is bringing the worst out of all of us. But really, I can live anywhere with affordable food and Internet.

P.S. I'm not American. I don't feel like I have to pledge myself to any nationality.

Honestly, everyone should just expatriate to Belize.

Good;

-National language is English.

-Successful multiculturalism, which is all too rare (Hispanics, Rastas, Mennonites, Africans, and American/European expats. Who would have thought that would work?)

-Growing economy.

-Liberal, simple attitudes and lifestyle.

-Gorgeous white tropical beaches and turquoise Caribbean seas.

-Most food and drink is heavily Mexican and American influenced.

Bad;

-Insects

-Belmopan and Belize city are both pretty rough.

-Not a lot of money, (better than Guatemala though)

-Other stuff.

If you think you're going to escape dumb people by going somewhere else in the world...

I'm pretty certain our country is on the wrong track, but most of the rest of the world also sucks. Much of Europe is also suffering economically, their politics are also extremely moronic and corrupt, and there is a 5% chance Russians will suddenly "liberate" whatever city you're in. As for Russia their economy also sucks, driving is suicidal (see Russian dashcam videos), and I've spent so long hating the commie menace that it would be weird to live there.

Canada? Nothing but ice and moose there.

Rest of the world? All sorts of awful things ranging from giant spiders to roaming warlords.

Then again if anybody wanted to give me millions of dollars to live their I'd change my opinion.

I know a little Polish. I dated a Polish girl for a while (half of the things she taught me are not nice though lol)....I loved her accent too!

You have hurt my thunder :(  I kid. It's good to keep things in perspective.  thank you.

I would go to Centauri Prime. an new Human Colony in vast reaches of space.. just only 20 light years away from here. it would be perfect to grow the human civilization here. no problems would arise like on Earth.

I'm just only dreamer.

This question is directed at Americans of course but anyone feel free to chime in.

Anyway, let's say your situation here starts to deteriorate for whatever reason. Maybe jobs are really scarce, you don't approve of the direction the country is going, you're just tired of it here, etc. the reason is not really important. But whatever it is, it's enough that you don't wanna live here anymore. Would you move to another country? Where would you go? Why would you move there?

I'll say this: If the United States Constitution was abolished, I would certainly consider leaving. Specifically the right to freedom of speech/freedom of expression, and the right to bear arms. In fact, many visitors who come to the United States, mostly public speakers, often say that we take these freedoms for granted and we ought to be more grateful, and I agree.

While I do like your post....We do take our freedoms for granted, but its not out of cockiness or anything....its because we know we aren't going to lose them.

Do you REALLY think if the .gov said ok thats it everyone...come turn in your guns.  They aren't allowed anymore.  How do you think that would go over? LMAO!

We take our freedoms for granted because we don't know any better. We've had these freedoms our entire lives and most people don't care to know about laws that prohibit or greatly limit freedom of speech in other nations. The grass always looks greener on the other side and that's why, when these topics come up, Americans are quick to want to make the jump to the UK. Never mind the fact that you would no longer have the right to freedom of speech or freedom of expression, and the ever growing Muslim immigration problem there that wants to establish Sharia Law as soon as possible.
