Have we heard anything about a possible release date for the next patch?

I'm holding off on my first playthrough to wait until the PC keyboard/mouse fixes are in. Just wondering if I should start another game or keep waiting.

I don't think no one is at the office because of the holiday season, and I don't think they've completed the third patch either so it could be pushed out through its services.

I presume, and I stress that this is only a guess on my part, that we won't see another patch until mid-january at the earliest.

Please temper your expectations.

What you may consider is 'waiting for a fix'

may be 'working as intended'...

Well considering Bioware have came out and said that they are working on the PC controls it's probably safe to say some stuff is definitely not "working as intended."

It's sad that Ubisoft is faster at patching their game than Bioware is.

Bioware, your QA needs to learn how to do stuff.

Probably not till after New years I'd imagine it's a skeleton crew right now (or at least hope so for the devs sake).

Oh, you. If they were anything like Ubisoft I would never purchase a game from Bioware again.

Just hope they don't wind up breaking the game with the next patch like they always seem to do.

Most of them are in the bahamas, laughing at your misfortune.  :)

2015 it's the holidays and things have probably slowed down around there for now. Game devs have families too.

I wouldn't really hold off a playthrough though. The game is quite enjoyable on a pc. Yes, the controls are suboptimal, but not exactly so much that they make the game overly frustrating or a bad game. I'm playing as a mage on nightmare and having a blast. However, you might wanna steer clear of melee classes. The AI is at least decent for a tank IMO.

Lies! All lies, everyone knows Bioware is a bunch of mindless drones whose sole purpose is too shower us with video games and yield to our every demand( Sarcasm ). Yeah, almost three years of working on DA:I I would be looking forward to a break as well.

Tactical cam was the worst thing since un-sliced bread... but after switching to HARD and forcing myself to use it, I've become a bit more accustomed to it. Its helpful when characters STAY PUT, which seems to be bugged. I also dislike the fact that if i'm too far away from another character, if i switch to them it unpauses combat... that is VERY annoying. Also, WASD should move your character in Tac cam, not the camera. It always throws me off...

I read this initially as "please templar your expectations." I was confused.

Anyway, I would say you should at least perfect your Inquisitor. The character creator, as with all Bioware games, is a fickle beast.

I would encourage you to play a bit as well. You have no way of knowing for sure what they will do with the controls or when, or whether they will do anything at all. Still, if you have some other game keeping your interest, DA:I isn't going anywhere. You could wait for a bit.

They would have released a third patch, but they simply ran out of time.

True, but an 'improvement' to something that works

may have less urgency compared to a bug or game breaker.

Oh yeah I agree they really should work on getting the game to run smoothly and fixing main bugs first.

Bioware are quite famous in the video game industry. This is because they actually let the people have a week for Christmas/Winter vacation or maybe it is two weeks? Probably a few people will be in the office on monday the 29th of December and the 30th of December. But as I recall, Mark Darrah said in one of the Twitch streams (the last one, I think) that Bioware are indeed working on a patch for the pc controls. However, this could probably take some time as patching the pc controls for kb/m doesn't seem to be that easy.

ps: As I recall, someone mentioned that Assasin's Creed from Ubisoft was near unplayable when it first got released. As I recall from the info here on the BSN DA:I forums, most players could indeed play DA:I at release.

edit:

Yes, some people have to work, also here in Denmark. (Europe). The people who works are the police, the nurses at the hospitals and at the old people's home. Some people also work at the kiosks and at the minimarkets. However, every other store and business are closed during the holidays. Schools will open for students again on January the 5th 2015. My point was just this: The Bioware teams are on a very deserved Christmas vacation.
