I am not speaking for every person who has bought Dragon Age Inquisition for first gen consoles, only for those of us who are dealing with issues, some very serious to the point that the game is un-playable, that makes us question why the game was released for first gen consoles at all. If you read this and don't have any glitches or bugs or problems with your game, then I am happy for you. But that still leaves the rest of us who paid good money for this game and who are unable to fully enjoy it as it was meant to enjoyed.

There are some very serious glitches and bugs that's currently plaguing many of us who are playing Dragon Age Inquisition on old gen consoles (Xbox360 and PS3).

We are all fans of the amazing world of Dragon Age. A lot of us, me included, has waited for years for this game. I was one of those who pre-ordered the Deluxe version and I gladly paid the same price as those who bought PC and second gen copies. Unfortunately it looks like we've paid the full price for half the game-experience.

For some of us the game is un-playable. A lot everyone of us has run into serious problems that has made us question why the game was released at all.

The following list describes some of the glitches and issues we have been dealing with:

  • Black screens, game crashing or freezing. Patch 2 has helped some players but there are still a lot out there who struggles with the game freezing or crashing on them.
  •
  • Textures not loading or flickering as well as very low resolution at times.
  •
  • Haircolours are too glossy to the point that they look more like metal than hair. The black colour is the worst one.
  •
  • Clipping issues: arms goes through weapons or torso, chins goes through armour and so on.
  •
  • Audio acting up.
  •
  • Wrong enviromental sounds playing in the wrong area.
  •
  • No background music or background music fading after having played for about 10 seconds.
  •
  • No sound at all.
  •
  • No or very little banter with the Inquisitor never joining in.
  •
  • The dialouge-wheel during quest related banter never highlighting.
  •
  • Dialouges freezing forcing the player to skip ahead or reload despite the fact that this was one of the things Patch 2 should fix.
  •
  • Multiplayer glitches and for some it is completely un-playable.
  •
  • Unable to load saved files.
  •
  • Subtitles and menues are too small to read. (Reported by user: terminussystems)
  •
  •  Corrupted saves. (Reported by user: Panda)
  •
  • Disk unreadable error on XBOX360. (Reported by user: Panda)
  •
  • Major lag and texture pop-in's. (Reported by user: Panda)

-------------------------------

These are just some of the issues we as a community are dealing with. I have personally experienced all of these problems despite having used what workarounds I have been able to find.

If you are playing Dragon Age Inquisiton on an old gen console, and you have experienced glitches and bugs and have issues wth your copy of the game, please join us in trying to bring these problems to BioWare's attention. Start a thread here and on the EA Answer forum : http://answers.ea.co...p/DAInquisition

Send a tweet to @dragonage stating your issues.

Head over to Dragon Age's Facebook page and send a message or post either this list or your own list of glitches and problems.

We need to unite as a community and support each other if we are to bring the problems we're having into focus and let BioWare know that they need to come up with a fix for them.

Not sure if it's a glitch or a graphical issue, but the text and subtitling are far too small and it's illegible. I'm deaf and it's CRITICAL to have legible texts and subtitling, and I can't even play the game because of this one minor issue that should've been sorted in QA. Yes, I'm using a HDMI cable on a 720p 30+ inch TV.

In the other old gen thread, this issue has cropped up a bunch of times.

So... Question:  What if I'm playing on the 360 and have experienced absolutely none of the problems you claim everyone is experiencing?  Where should I report that?

Wait... I take that back... I have noticed the glossy hair and the clipping of body parts(but only Chancellor Roderick's ears clipping through his cowl.  Haven't noticed anything else). But neither issue made the game un-playable.  Or were "serious" on any level.  I also did have some issues with freezing conversations before the patch, but I haven't had any issues with it since then.

Though, I am having this random bug where Solas and Iron Bull are repeating the exact same conversation every half-hour. But again, it doesn't make the game "un-playable"...

I never said that every player playing the game on a first gen console is having these issues, nor that it makes it un-playable. If you read my post you may notice that I said 'almost everyone' and 'for some of us the game is un-playable'. If you are one of the lucky ones who has managed to get a hold of a copy of the game that works as it should then I am happy for you.

Personally, I can live with the glitchy graphic and the low resolution. I can even survive no background music. But no sound at all and dialouges freezing and the dialouge-wheel not working, to me those things are serious problems that totally ruin my experience of the game.

That is a problem, I agree with you. I'll add it to the list. I can't read the subtitles and menues either but I figured it was because my TV was too old.

Yep I'd add corrupted saves, disk unreadable error on XBOX360, major lag and texture pop-in's.

You're not having texture issues? Color me insanely jealous.

How about the fact ps3 version shifts from 1080p to 720p when the game loads? Just verified it at the office today and had two people spit coffee out and call their wives to return the game and get the kids a Wii u instead.

MOST (all?) ps3 games shift to 720p from 1080p when loaded.  The PS3 and 360 were designed when high def was still a thing that wasn't mainstream yet.  The RAM (both amount and bus speed) in the 3 and 360 have difficulty running 1080p resolutions.  Heck, the xbone doesn't even run DAI at 1080 - it got locked to 900 p.

720 is still considered high definition.

It's just odd because a few of my other games haven't done 1080p to 720p since... That damned jack black rock game.

Usually at home if I see a green flash or flicker before any game loading I know it switched resolutions... I wonder what the game looks like on 480p? (The box does say 480 and 720)

My TV shows the reso switch in an input pop up box whenever it happens, I don't get a flicker though.  480 was the max reso on ps2 and original xbox - systems configured to use RCA style red/white/yellow inputs.

I didn't. But I have edited my post and hopefully made it more clear that I do not speak for every person who bought Dragon Age Inquisition for Xbox360/PS3, only for those of us who are dealing with problems that makes the game a hassle rather than a joy to play. Not saying everyone thinks it is completely un-playable, but if you check out this thread: http://forum.bioware...x-these-issues/You will see that there are a lot of players who have their experience of the game ruined by the problems I listed.
