I feel such longing from the window behind....
That would make sense. The game's default character is a human female rogue named Makkon Trevelyan. And by that I mean that is the full character name. Makkon Trevelyan. As in its actually Makkon Trevelyan Trevelyan in the context of the story. I mentioned sloppy code before but let me elaborate:
What's happening is the corrupt save lacks character information so its defaulting to human rogue. However, because of some sloppy code the last used character CC data is seemingly not being cleared on loading a new game. Its overwritten by the new game you load. Which means my corrupt file looks for CC data and finds the CC data of the last character used. Which is what leads to the horrifying birth of It.
It will wear the face of any character that I load prior to loading It's saved game. Which is why it started wearing the face of my main PC like a flesh mask and why it can hide a Dwarf head between its breasts. The only exception is Qunari which has some different assets from the other races ( horns instead of hair for example ). So it only loads the mesh deformations ( leading to unspeakable terror ) and then whatever hairstyle, etc matches the same # as the horn style chosen.
Additionally, the corrupt game has no progress data. So upon loading it I get a developer level select dialogue that I think I showed earlier in the thread. Which lets me set the current point of the main campaign starting with The Dawn Will Come as the earliest option. Its likely a debug tool that got activated as a default mode.
The debug tool isn't exactly bug free either. One of the options will set Skyhold to the blizzard settings prior to the Dawn Will Come Scene so you stumble around Skyhold like you're struggling against snow and wind. While Skyhold loads a night time setting with short distance rendering visibility like its a blizzard. Which makes Skyhold rather ominous and creepy actually. >.>
I adore It™ unconditionally.
It seems like the CC data is also missing from the corrupted save, then, so there's nothing to overwrite the currently loaded one. Very interesting. How did you find that name, by the way?
Oh, and you may have ruined the Cullen romance for me now. I just did that first scene at Skyhold and all I could think of was It. xD
There's zilch left of my character in the save so it creates a new character profile under Makkon Trevelyan whenever I load it and that is indeed her name in the character sheet in game.
You're also reaaally lucky I haven't gotten Storm Coast working yet to recruit Iron Bull. ;p
Edit: Makkon is preset 1 but with fantastical eyelashes:

Here's what happens in the game's of It with the debug interface ( + Creepy Skyhold ):
Note that I stay in "blizzard" mode. I can't run and the mark keeps glowing. No one will talk to me either except the blacksmith. Cullen spurned me ( qq ). Solas and Josie just...stare.
Random fun fact: Haven being destroyed seems to be referred to internally as the "Setback" as you can see in the level phase select. "Post Setback".
Wow, creepy Skyhold is beautiful. I really wish there was a night mode in the game.

Its the transition from day to night and visa versa that would some work. The level phase select demonstrates that the light levels, weather and skybox can be loaded/changed on the fly during gameplay though. It would certainly add a whole new feel to all the zones. Especially if spawns were adjusted to the cycle ( More wolves at night, more Red Templars during the day kind of thing ).
Frostbite is capable of a day/night cycle and has dynamic radiosity. But how easy it is to implement at this point, what the performance implications would be and whether not it would require a major overhaul of how they did the existing lighting system I couldn't say.
This is what I mean by wasteland:
^^ That's something I want to unsee
... but I like it.
I'm a mess.
"Forget!"
In my PT Cole more_human =)
In that case: Your loss! Behold Solas' invisible groin!

It seems to me, with Solas "loss" is general concept. ![]()

Thanks for reminding me. I'm gonna cry myself to sleep now.
Before Dragon Age I was such a happy person. Now I need several therapies do fix the damage. I'm gonna start my first session with 'there were these fictional wolfy elves...' and then I'll take a picture of the therapist's face. Wondering, if they'd let me go.

huh.. wounds that won't heal....
Personaly, I've embraced my inner_gaming_masochist long ago after certain unhardened royal bastard dumped my first Warden.... and, you know, ravenesse, good ol' hysterical laugh can be quite liberating at times.
And if your therapist is professional he won't judge + he already heard similar story few times. ![]()

I don't think he needs that part anyways ![]()
