Hey all!

So initially my character was going to be a Qunari/Mage because I've always wanted to play a Qunari in the Dragon Age series! However I started reading some posts about "Qunari have no good gear choices!" or "It feels like Bioware put no effort into Qunari and their armor!" So I ended up rolling a human and now I just want to beat the game with him so I can make my Qunari mage and actually enjoy the game.

Can anyone elaborate on these points to me? The only negative thing about Qunari's armor I can notice is the Vitaar's and how they are only face paint. Well I play with helms disabled so it wouldn't bother me that much, on my human/mage I've seen at least 4 different styles on my character of outfits, do Qunari not get the styles or something? I am so confused by the whole gear limiting statement but would love to know why.

Also how come some people feel Qunari was just thrown in the game as a playable race? As a human I get a lot of reference as a Lord and the name and all that. And I have seen some people say that when they play an Elf there is unique dialogue. Is Qunari not as unique as the others in terms of "RPness"?

Thanks for any help with this, I really want to feel connected to my character and I am having a hard time doing that with my plain human!

Two things:

I beleive, even with helmets disabled, Vitaars still show up.

Playing as a Qunari offers some unique dialgue/situations and aspects but it is true...I beleive they have the lowest amount of armor variety. Most unique things will say "Human, Dwarf or Elf trained Only"

I'm currently playing as a Qunari mage.

While other races all have race specific armors, Qunari don't and are also unable to use dwarf/human/elf restricted armor (which is most armor in the game) the few "all races" armors and schematics you can get tend to look the same or very similar. My Qunari rogue ended up wearing upgraded (and one slightly altered) versions of the same trenchcoat the entire game. Very disappointing but playing Qunari is definitely worth it for the RP aspects :D

It's only disappointing if you don't like the trenchcoat. ;)

I don't see a problem, get silverite, craft armor, it goes on anyone then.

Can a qunari wear silverite Legion of the Dead armor, then? I thought it only bypassed class restrictions, not race.

If it's one race specific then, no but for most things silverite works. Not if it's one race only.

Silverite opens armors up to any class not any race. You cannot bypass race-specific armor, that I know of.

Ugh that is a shame, as badly as I want to play a Qunari one of my most favorite things is different style gear :( Might have to rethink my choice to make a Qunari mage.

I actually do like it, but I don't want my character to have only one outfit throughout the whole game (and also have that outfit shared with every other rogue I make).

Now that I'm thinking of it...I really cant recall any armors that have no race restriction, the ones that do might have no upgrade slots or something? Ugh! That really kills my want to play a Qunari now :(

Do you happen to have any pictures of your Qunari mage in his gear, can't seem to find many online.

I do not, but it is the Superior Battlemage armor. A tad bit different than this (different color and different arms) http://i.imgur.com/WKdjxJB.jpg Plus my Qunari is male.

Some armors are bugged as well, and will show up on your character as your default starting outfit. Unfortunately you will have to get used to wearing the same looking armor for much of the game. Bioware dropped the ball big time on this, it makes me wonder why they even bothered implementing Qunari.

I would love to wear armor that looks like Iron Bull's. All male Qunari have huge muscles, show those puppies off.

Unfortunately, Silverite does not remove racial restrictions.
