Hey Bioware,

 

If anyone there is listening, could you explain to me the reason behind this hidden staircase to nowhere hidden behind a wall of snow you can phase through located in Emprise du Lion? As of right now, there is no loot, no rune, no anything down there. All there is is some weird textures, creepy noises and a large drop to nowhere. This is driving me nuts! Also, whenever you pass through the wall to get there, the game makes a noise like you are passing through a barrier. You character is even engulfed in a blue aura as you pass through.

 

Can someone please tell me whether this cave is part of a quest, unmarked quest, cut area, hook for future DLC or simply there for shits and giggles? Whatever the answer, I'd be most grateful.

I'd just like an official word. If it's cut/future content, I just want to know. It just seems weird that something that interesting would sit there like that and not have anything to do.

If only you knew how much damn time i spent running up n down that damn tunnel with a silly torch looking for a damn rune, grrrrrrr

There is a superb ice rune around there, but it's in the tunnel leading to the area where you light the veilfire torch, next to all the building debris.

Apparently if you make it there on Nightmare, no skills, basic mercenary coat, and only using Inquisition greatsword, you get a hidden romanceable character for male Inquisitors.

Even if that were 100% true, it would be a romance to heavily avoid if that's the meeting spot. Place is haunted.

Problem is, not even youtube has figured it out yet. I'm starting to think this must be cut content or a hook for future DLC, but I need confirmation.

It is seriously bugging me. What is it for? Such a great setup for a dungeon too.....

I've ran into at least one one "hidden" area, in Exalted Plains, it's in that fortress where you have to deactivate ancient elven defenses. Anyway, it's possible to do some roof jumping into an area behind the fallen tower. There is an open gate, and a bridge behind it leading... somewhere... but eventually you run into an invisible wall and that's it.

I've ran into at least one one "hidden" area, in Exalted Plains, it's in that fortress where you have to deactivate ancient elven defenses. Anyway, it's possible to do some roof jumping into an area behind the fallen tower. There is an open gate, and a bridge behind it leading... somewhere... but eventually you run into an invisible wall and that's it.

Was that the rumored 21st region that nearly everyone is trying to find to complete the region collection for the Exalted Plains? That's another great mystery of this game.

Isn't that a content for MP and you happened to stubble upon in SP ?

I know that MP have multiple exclusive areas, but i don't have the detailed list of them.

That's interesting. Do you have a screenshot showing what this area may look like in MP? Just sort of weird that it would sitting there in singleplayer complete with the old pass through wall trick.

That would be cool. When I first found it, I thought I was some kind of boss or something. Then I reached the bottom

that looks like the other half to the area on that map where you fight off a few dark spawn and collect grey warden artifacts for Blackwall. The floor is tore up and drops off into the Deep Roads / abyss type dark spawn area same as how that looks.

Doesn't really explain why that 'half' is empty tho. Could do a small DLC to connect the areas as a shortcut I suppose and throw a thaig of loot in there.

That's a good thought, but it doesn't explain why it's so carefully hidden. The sound and effect the game makes as you pass through the wall makes this whole spot seem a lot more than some mere glitch. Something is up.
