Will we ever see new classes introduced to SP?

I see a lot of suggestions and what not for additional classes to be added to single player, but off the top of my head I can't think of any RPG where they're done that. Maybe someone can link a game that has.   They of course have added new classes to MP on ME3, which DAMP takes after a lot but it ended up making the SP classes seem very bland in comparison.  Leaving a lot to be desired with the base classes in SP.

Personally I'd be all for the addition of class specializations they've left out.  Like the Spirit Warrior, could do some interesting things with that class.  Shapeshifter, Blood Mage, Force Mage (kinda spread out across the existing trees, but I just want Crushing Prison back :().

I've seen requests for Monks, and not the pacifist temple priest type either.

What do you guys think? Will they ever add more to SP and would you be all for it?

Two issues:

  • Monk would probably not work unless they rework the combat or make it it's own class entirely.
  • Blood mage, I assume is bad due to the mechanics (not being able to regen health naturally), as well as it might make the inquisition look very terrible.

While I always gravitated towards the Monk architype in RPGs.. like you said they don't really work in this game.

I'm curious why they never went with spears as a weapon type.  Although i guess the people that ask for a Spear proficient warrior tend to think of Zhao Yun type combat with it, which just doesn't work in DA lol.

I doubt they will add anything to the base game. If they make a full on expansion, a la DAA, we may get new specs along with that. I wouldn't hold out too much hope though. I would honestly be more interested in them just expanding current trees and specs via dlc or expansion than adding in new stuff. It would be great to get a new spell or two for each tree, especially specs. Just a couple more options from each tree could allow for a bit more variety, some more spirit damage in reaver could make it a passable pseudo spirit warrior, etc. The only spec I really miss is Ranger, even if it wasn't the most effective spec I miss summoning my wolf.

The Berserker should make a comeback, and get Ogrhen to make a cameo. With that I hope the bring back the Dual Wielding Warrior - I feel that Parry suits that weapon loadout better. I also agree that some additional skills to the current specialization can be done. I like the concept of the Tempest using alchemy as its in combat mechanic but was hoping that more outward flasks cabe used like specialized grenades and bombs. Or added effect to the potions and tonic loadout.

Silly as it may sound, I would like to see a support rogue.

You know the two I REALLY want to see, a Chevlier, either for you or a companion, and a One Handed Warrior. By one handed Warrior I mean a Longsword wielder who does not use a shield. This type of character would have a much higher ATK than a regular warrior, but would have to have some other advantage thrown in to make it viable, I.E. grabs opponent, or has a high dodge similar to a Rouge.

More on that Idea I would like to see more mixes of the Classes like the Knight-Enchanter Except for Rouge and Warrior.

Some sort of Rouge-Warrior hybrid, as well as a Rouge-Mage Hybrid. For these, something like the aforementioned, or the Monk would work really well. The would be something like the Lyrium ghost specialization a la Feneris in DA:II.

I want dual wield warrior back, aacompanied with Berserk and then another specialization for 2h warrior.

I want Blood mage and Shapeshifter.

I want Duelist and Bard (With Haste!)

I want a RIft-specialization for Warrior and Rogue. We got the Anchor -- why can'y I, like, use it in combat? Burst a rift inside of a dude as I hit him with a hammer?

Other than that.. it's all good. WIll it happen? Well... Maybe. I do expect at least 1 more specialization for each class in a DLC/Expansion.

Spirit warrior, berserker, duelist i miss these specializations. I always liked berserker better than reaver. IMO best warrior combo was berserker+ templar.

Yes please.

More classes would be awesome. And bring in class restricted gear!!!! For example: if I'm a Duelist, make my armor look like clothing and my weapon a one handed rapier.

I understand that making a crap ton of classes with individual skill trees and animations would be time consuming, but it would be great. Right now classes don't really add to the role-playing aspect. My head canon for my warrior is that he's a dishonorable mercenary. In my mind, he would kick dirt in your face and cover his shield in poison to hurt you. But there really isn't a way to represent that in game.

It's a minor issue to be sure. But I'd prefer multiple in depth classes with signature moves and abilities to what we have now.

I hope they introduce new ones - there are more than enough Skill Points to distribute into another Tree before the end of the game.

Artificer is the closest to Support Rogue.

Id like to see former characters of the series teach new specs. If said character was killed in your world state, they could be replaced by a generic character.

For example,

Oghren could teach you beserker, Velanna could teach you keeper, and Isabella could teach you duelist?

Or brand new trainers for specialisations.
Maybe a fade spirit offers its assistance and makes you into a Spirit Warrior?

Perhaps a infamous Antivan duelist or Bard shows you their techniques.

Maybe an Avvar shaman teaches you how to shapeshift into a bear, or the Keeper from a clan shows you keeper magic?

id like those type of options.
