Luckily, women aren't stupid enough to go into battle with bare chest.

And for boob plate or whatever, no, because no self respecting blacksmith would ever design something like that. Or waste the metal. And no warrior would waste the coin to titillate horny teenagers.

I get it's a videogame and all, but it's not what I want to see.

Gladiatorex faught barebreasted.

the bare chest was a badge of honor for all class of gladiator.

Gladiators aren't soldiers, they fought for showmanship.

Seems cleavage is missing...lol...all those Orlesian ladies with low cut dresses and not a bit of cleavage to be seen.

Just my opinion...you are all entitled to it :D

The closest I have seen in VivIenne. An even that wasn't cleavage...but close enough :P

This is the new gaming world post Anita Sarkeesian.  It's misogynistic apparently for developers to do anything sexy with the females. Male fantasy is bad M'kay, it breeds boys into misogynists and potentially rapists. Damsels in distress is bad too.  Women and men do not exist, we are all the same and only genitals exist.

Varric has more "cleavage"  than any lady. Didn't you know that makes women into "misandrists".

Sex is bad, sexual fantasies are bad, well only if they are male that is, with the exception of gay sexuality. Ladies and gay's get Iron bull, straight males get a prude virginal Josephine romance. I know Cassandra exist, but that romance is like romancing your male buddy only he has a vagina and some serious Religion fetish.

Male hetero sex is out of fashion, that just leads to rape and misogyny.

Meh, what do I know I am white and male the worst combo to have today, I am inherently evil.

I am not talking about skimpy armor if anyone wonders, that I have always thought was silly and illogical.

Reminds me of Iron Bull armor, at least the starting one. Minus the man-kini underwear.

I guess they went from useless skimpy armor on women to useless skimpy armor on men, of another species (Qunari).

I thought Viv's boobs were quite impressive. A lot of my armour choices in DAI were based on whether they showed off those magnificent breasts or Cassandra's shapely bum.

While i don't mind the eyecandy skimpy armor would inevitably produce, it's not exactly accurate with what women would likely wear for midieval style combat. They would have worn a slightly different chestplate that allowed room for the tatas, but it would have more or less been the same armor the guys wore. They wouldn't have worn a metal bra and metal g-string.

I've no problem with Iron Bull not having a chest plate, as it was fairly common for midieval regiment leaders to do things like that to demonstrate their bravery to those under their command. Then you factor in the sheer weight of a chestpiece made for someone of his size, and the restriction and difficulty that would be present for swinging a large two handed weapon...and his armor or lack thereof makes a lot of sense.

Honestly, the fact that this is even a sore point for some here is amusing. I guess that's how some people here get their jollies or something.

Since it wasn't part of obnoxious armor, no I didn't notice.

I also didn't notice it not being present on most formal dresses, though.  I'm not sure what that means.

I suspect there is less cleavage in this game due to the same reason there is no long hair:  the physics just weren't ready.

The jiggles didn't work, so scale down the b00bz.

There is an NPC that has quite prominently... well *armor* is the wrong word but still. The lack of physics did not impede the design.

To bad im kinda a flat tomboy alass i will never know the power of the boobs.

i know there are martial arts that use sex as a distraction. for both men and women.

Wait, what? Are you joking? :o

Though not for Varric and Iron Bull. Varric is a rogue that uses long distance, and even so, you actually can cover his chest. And Iron bull is frikkin huge. Armor his size, especially full armor... expensive and rare.

There's the odd armour out there that makes Iron Bull fully armoured...add that helmet "dread" and he gets freaking terrifying.

Vivienne... Morrigan...

I'm glad the ladies in general are wearing practical armor, myself.

I did notice Bioware de-empathized Morrigan's cleavage in this game compared to DA:O. While I don't think every game needs to have cleavage it doesn't hurt...JMO.

I have indeed noticed. I think there's a balance to be struck here.

I'm happy for 'practical' armors and a lack of cleavage, but if I want my beefy mancake of an Inqusitor to dungeon crawl or run around in the desert bare-chested and in my undies alongside my harem of companions, then I should damn well be able to!

I feel like you've gone way to the extreme here :/ There's a ton of women looking and being sexy in this game as long as your only requierment for sexy isn't "SHOW ALL THE SKIN!". In fact all of my mage's armors that I made for her made her look pretty awesome imo. I mean yea sure if you wanna be all extremist about things go ahead... it's just sort of a dumb point you are trying to make here.

I remember Morrigan's lady parts looked great in DA:O, but in this game they look like they've been ran over by a dragon. That's the only 'breast-related' thing I've noticed, well except for Vivienne's. It's hard not to notice them.

By the way, why does 'cleavage' start with a capital letter?

I was exaggerating on purpose.

Still,I am not far off, what people like Anita Sarkeesian have said and implied. That of course doesn't mean she represent all women. Just the vocal ones.

Now that she is a 'consultant' in several games, because she really have gaming experience (none) and game developing knowledge (none), but she sure can be vocal about how misogynistic developers and gamers are. She is also a master at playing victim and 'damsel in distress' (irony is overwhelming).

It is pretty clear Bioware has taken notice.

I also said I find skimpy armor silly, that was never the case. The fact that Iron bull has skimpy armor is kind of ironic when they said they wanted to remove such unrealistic armor from the female NPC and PC characters.

What the hell are you talking about? No army has EVER done anything of the sort. What do you base this on, movies?

It is not a sore point for me. It's pointing out the HYPOCRISY, if you thought about it for just a micro second you'd realize this.

Complaint about metal bikinis with skimpy armor that is illogical and then remove that and do the SAME thing but for a male character. It's just a big joke.

The fact Bioware made some utterly ugly straight male romances, one looks like a man the other just shy a few warts of being a witch. It's like they did it on purpose.

In the theoretical world where women get as crazy over a sign of naked male chest as the guys get over a glimpse of bare female breast you'd maybe have a point. In our own, not really.

(Iron Bull's manboobs and Varric's chest hair are literally running jokes in DA. That alone should make you realize the difference, if you thought about it for just a micro second)

This isn't hypocrisy because the male skimpy armor and female skimpy armor are not designed with the same purpose. The female ones are designed for sex appeal. The male ones are designed to make the wearer look powerful. Very very different meaning. You'd have a point if the men were wandering around with their dicks hanging out and posing suggestively, but that's not the case.

Also, by your logic Bioware are also misogynists because they made male love interests that I did not find physically attractive...
