I am trying to activate my ME2, but when I get to the EA actiavtion window it says that it couldnt activate the game for my account then when I maunally enter in the code and click on next nothing happens, I have been sitting staring at an empty window for the past 15 minutes.

wtf?  was there something I was supposed to do first?

Im getting the exact same problem. I click to activate put in my code then it just brings me to the next screen and sits there.. been sitting here for 25+ minutes now.

Kind of annoying that I have to wait till 1pm EST to even install the game and now I'm unable to play because I can't even "activate" it.

I am having the same issue.....purchased from D2D as well.

More details....at start of install for Mass Effect 2, after the "I agree" to terms and conditions....It askes for activation code, I was able to put it in and it accepted it....then had to do the "Verication of release date" that insures that you aint playin before public release (pre-order) afther that I can get to the Main Menu Splash screen for ME2.....I click "Play" and it askes you again for the activation code...I enter it as requested and the imput screen closes and you are left with a window with a pic of one of the ingame charaters......and I have sat there for nearly an hour now......PLZ HELP......

Also find it slightly funny that on this website it shows that many of us have registered ME2.. (but it doesn't show up under my games)

Same problem here. D2D purchase. I registered the code on this forum site, then tried to activate game, and Kaboom. EA activation said I couldn't activate key on this account, had me manually enter the key, and doesn't work. I wonder if I have to unregister the serial from this website to get it to work?

Yeah, I wonder if registering the serial on this site somehow broke the EA registration. It wouldn't surprise me...

DUDE, I have the EXACT same problem. Anyone one have a fix for this!?

Like one poster said, I think that the EA server may have crashed due to the insane influx of activations at one time. (personally I think they should have staggered the release over the the time zones 10am for each one)



Basically we are all screwed till they get back from lunch and reset the servers..

Something I just noticed.. on the EA site they also have a register option.. clicking on PC Download removes the CD-Key field and also removes Mass Effect 2 from the list.. perhaps they forgot to even add it to their activation list hence why none of us can even activate it.

I did the oppisit and "registered" the game here"social.bioware.com" and re started app and it now accepted the key.....have fun all.

I just went to the EA site and tried to register there.. They have a drop down menu for the platform.. clicking on PC download removes the CD-Key field and Mass Effect 2 from the Game List. My assumption here is that is exactly what is causing our problem. For some reason their online activation for the game isnt turned on or accepting any activations at this time. Until they fix the problem on their end we are left with a game that we can't play even though most of us have put in the cd-key in multiple different fields.

It seems that the activation is back online.. close down the current hung up one and retry it.. enjoy guys!
