There was barely any player agency in Origins either, you had plot convenience pushing things along to a point of no return.

The difference is the tone players put into text, which is pretty much the same as headcannon-ing what is said. Valid as a choice of gameplay mechanics, but also archaic at the same time because of its style.

Except the warden has more options to actually show a personality the th inquis does ( who gets white, vanish white, and driven snow white) as options for personality.

I think people *generally* connect with their Warden more than with their Inquisitor because of the origins. They were all interesting and well written, also kind of tragic, so many players immediately felt some sympathy for their character - not because the Warden had more "personality" than the Inquisitor. Really, s/he doesn't. S/he really is just a blank slate.

But with far more range of action than the inquis so far easier to actualy rp with.

As much as I complain about the Inquisitor I still put 125 ish hours into my play through. I also didn't start a new when as soon as I finished the first time ever for a Bioware game. I relate it too going on a long ass road trip with someone you don't like, god how you dread that drive back. I'm ditching the Inquisitor and hitch hiking home.

I thought Inquisition wasn't Inquisitor's story. It was all about The Inquisition.

That's actually exactly how I felt!
After finishing Inquisition in about 130 hours I immediately rolled a new Inquisitor, got her to Haven, started the inquisition gave a lukewarm response to almost everything she got asked, then traveled to Hinterlands did two or three fetch quests and started DAO.
After Awakening, I plan on giving DA2 another run and maybe I'll be ready for another Inquisition next (in ca 2 months - hopefully by then someone discovers how to get rid of Skyhold PJs and wear a dress at Winter palace).
However It really made me appreciate the other two installments ;) (well as I said before I don't consider DA2 better than DAI as whole but Hawke is definitely a far better protagonist)
