Just tried to play some games -

1 connections to game lost.

1 host migration and party disbanded.

6 infinite loading screens, 2 of which required a task manager shutdown due to alt+F4 not working.

1 no key drop.

1 facepalm, deep sigh and I guess I'll just go play Clash of Clans and ponder what has become of my hobby.

Anyone remember how good Streets of Rage 2 was when you were a child?

Added day 8 and 9 of testing, limited games due to family in town and the the desire to limit my time wasted to a bugged game.

Yesterday I spent about 45min just trying to get into a lobby, and every time I got the message saying I had lost my connection and then booted back to the character screen.
To say I was pi$$ed off would be an understatement.

Well, today is fun. Stuck on "Joining game session" 5 times now.

 

I think the frequency of various game ending/preventing bugs has increased over time.

I'm happy to report that I'm not seeing that many bugs on my end, in the about ~60 hours I've played multiplayer so far.

 

I've only ever seen one map where there was deformaty, and only three maps where I was unable to move once loaded in.

 

Since multiplayer relies on peer to peer technology, likely the "Joining Game session" is due to poor bandwidth on the host' end, but a time out should obviously be created if one is not there already.

After further investigation, the joining game session seems to happen when I random into or search for Tevinter Ruins map. If TormDK's guess is correct, I am guessing jackasses who host a game and go afk are taking it to another level.

In a scrolls recover mission my character while retrieving the scrolls kept standing up and thus breaking the grab attempt.

Nothing at all around to cause the interruption. Time ran out for no good reason.

Everyone has seen by now that yesterday Bioware finally acknowledged the bug after... what, 3+ weeks?  Of course, no ETA given only that they are going to roll the fix into a future patch. 

 

I continue to update this post in hopes that Bioware will understand how serious this bug is.  There is nothing worse than getting to the end of rd 4 in a public match, get no key, and whoever is leader typically isnt on comms and just sits there instead of leaving to force a migration.  So much more wasted time. 

 

Playing this game is like masturbating with a cheese grater.  It may feel great in the end, but it sure is a painful voyage.

My gaming experience is like yours, but my game also very often freezes on the black loading screen, so my success percentage is much lower than yours.

I find it unbelievable that the No Key problem still exists.  The DLC was released about a month ago and it took Bioware until a week ago just to acknowledge that there was a problem.  I understand their programers have their own lives and such, but maybe Bioware shouldnt be releasing a crap product right before the Holidays when all of their people are not going to be available to fix it.  They are lucky that these problems dont plague the single player version of the game, or that MP is not more than an afterthought, because they would have lost a lot of money from the outraged customers.  9-(

The infamous Beregost bug in Bladur's Gate is still not fixed after 15 years, well, not by Bioware. The only way is to save-reload every time you go there or to use fan-made save file editor to remove erroneous entry. It took a while to figure that out, a few years, iirc six or seven. And only after 10 years, the actual mechanism of the bug was understood and Weidu/Tutu were fixed. Had something to do with open/close door coordinates error. http://www.shsforums...crashes-solved/

The only time I've noticed when it does the no-key drop is when there are matches with large groups of wildlife (Kabaris, mini-dinosaur things etc.) I'm just sick of the same old routine of 'Bugged game>leave match>go back into match>unable to move>restart game>get into match>arrive at zone 5>die instantly by archers or demon commander'. 

 

I only play this game with friends so I have no idea how bad it is for you guys that play public games.

I usually play with 1 or 2 friends, but still run into all of the same problems.  The only consolation of playing with friends is that you can usually get back into the game after the Host leaves, if you are smart enough to set the game to private before hand.  9-)  But that isnt always an option.  I typically host for my friends since I am more central to where everyone lives, and when I CTD or we dont get a key, its a crap shoot as to whether or not I can get back into the match before the match maker throws someone else in my spot.  9-(

So either they worked on their netcodes or there are simply not more than 5 lobbies late night in Europe. I run into the same players over and over again every night, so the latter can be true as well :)

 

They just should give the xp to players with all the crashes and the key bug.

I am pretty sure that if you crash for whatever reason (CTD, no key, ect) that when you rejoin, you retain credit for everything you already accomplished in the match.  For instance, I have gotten a "no key" glitch while hosting on zone 4 with friends.  I close out, rejoin, finish the match, and still end up with 40+ kills and credit for all of the combos, streaks, and whatnot I accomplished earlier in the game.

Added day 5 - 7.  Played mainly a Reaver to get the Great Axe kills, flipped a Keeper, and tried some Threatening and Perilous with my Elementalist.

 

The game is getting worse and worse by the day.  The competent players are leaving because of the continuous bugs, leaving those left to pug with no-comm players that rush in and die over and over. 

 

The game is an eggshell, empty inside. Not content, so what did you expect? I didn't even bother finishing the last event, I am getting rather dissapointed. But I might have clocked in about 100h in there, even if there is only room for like 20, with what it offers :P

 

I wonder, since we are here about the bugs, how often does your reaver brake? The healing skill rarely works for me for the entirety of the match. Often at some point it just stops working anymore. It goes great, great, great, broken... Than you can't storm anymore without a keeper, a real pain...

The only thing I think you miss out on is XP. That being said, if I track a challenge and have to restart the game/re-join a match, I find that my tracked challenge displays the wrong information (i.e should have 450/500 axe kills, tells me I have 500/500 axe kills but no banner/portrait etc.) though this does fix itself after a game or 2...If I don't CTD or whatever.

Do you get the xp too after crashes when playing with friends? Cause this is not the case when rejoining a pug game.

I am pretty sure you do.  I have rejoined, replayed a rd 4 and 5, then ended up on the top of the exp chart at the end of the match...  I will check the numbers more closely next time it happens.
