So... this Corypheus is supposed to be the villain in this game right ? Anyone else think that he really does poorly as a villain ? He should take some lessons from Darth Malak because he was one of the best written evil guys in gaming history imho.

I just finished the temple of Mythal and Corypheus just blowed himself up in front of me before I entered the temple. I mean come on.. what was that supposed to be ? :P  Ok, he's immortal, but he could've shown off how immortal he is in a more villainy way. He makes me think that he is some kind of an amateur villain wannabe.

I remember in KOTOR when I first saw Malak on some posters, I already knew that he is going to be a great character, but not this Corypheus. At least so far. Maybe I'll change my opinion after I finish the story.

Corypheus is just Skeletor.

Don't think too much of him.

I fought him in DA II; he was by far one of the hardest fights in the game. He's also the original big bad according to Bioware's pet, the Chantry.

I don't think they wanted to potray Corry as evil as they could've. I mean the guy isn't evil, just wants to return Tevinter to what it was back when he was active and kicking.

I didn't percieve him as evil in a way Malak was. But then again, huge difference in Sith characters and Dragon Age lore. In my opinion, DA series doesn't have good-evil, just the huge gray range

Malak was more sympathetic to me than Corypheus.

Malak just wanted to rule the universe.

Corypheus wants to become God after his first attempt created Five Zombie-Orc Apocalypses.

Cory reminds me of Jafar, only not in a good way.

Calpernia was interesting though, she should have had more screen time.

Corypheus is your classic, ridiculously over-confident villain.  In the temple, he either wasn't paying attention to the magical artifact defenses that were about to fry him, or didn't care because he's so damned awesome he will shrug it off.  To be fair, he did.

Kinda makes you wonder though, I mean, what if the Architect had had Corypheus's level of power, but maintained his own personal level of hubris and ability to plan ahead.

Or maybe he does, and the Architect is still out there, scheming, ready to take over the world now that that idiot Corypheus screwed the pooch due to his ego.

Now that we know Corypheus couldn't be killed just by stabbing him to death, nor even by a Warden using the taint (like with Arch Demons) how sure are we that the Architect -is- actually dead?

Cory is a joke, period. I laughed at him during mostly all his scenes.  He had a great voice though.

I have the opposite problem

I cannot take Malak seriously, he is just a standard star wars villain (Who destroys any oposition just for fun)

Corypheus is more interesting, since he was a magister who entered the golden city.

I can't take Corypheus seriously because the guy has his robes growing out of him.

Can you imagine what that guy must smell like?

While Malak has an incredibly stupid design. "BEWARE DARTH UNDERBITE!"

I'd like to say that Corypheus being a magister who enters the Golden City doesn't make him scary to me as that story, literally, makes him the stupidest man alive.

And he somehow becomes MORE STUPID since his plan is to do this again despite it making him smelly robe man.

Had he been human I'd take him as a Scrooge-looking pervert. So no, I can't take him seriously either LOL

Corypheus' offensive game wasn't too good. Couldn't make it past Justinia, who swatted the ball out of his hands.

Inquisitor then took possession, and performed a Chaos Dunk.

To Corpy's credit, he did destroy either the Templars or Circle Mages.

He also did a massive number on the Wardens.

Fen'harel's blatant flopping is probably the only thing that got Cory the ball to begin with, but then Fen shored up and played good defense the rest of the game.

He sucks as a final villain. A villain, yes, he fits the bill. But the final battle was so poor I felt I had wasted 100+ hours getting to it. I did it on Nightmare and I don't feel happy his confrontation was easier than a Fade Rift.

That argument makes no sense, just because you're the last one fought, doesn't mean you should be the most powerful. Always hate the gamey logic on this forum, while simultaneously crying about immersion.

Would they stand in the fire and complain that it is hot?

Well he's the most powerful wizard in the world.

So there's that.

The entire disjointed build up this game had was that Corypheus was the most powerful being. When a Fade Rift gave me more trouble than him, yeah, I felt a little p*ssed off.

No it wasn't. That's something you attributed to him. The game's plot was that Cory wanted to be powerful and he had the orb. Nothing more.

I thought Cory was a good villain.  Watching him break down after I ruined all his plans was quite satisfying.

And there are few things I like more than putting a delusional, power-mad mage in his place.

Said place being the fade, while inside-out.

I gave my opinion. Why are you fighting me on?
