hai I was just thinking about which of the specs the mage class can choose from would be the stronges (lore standpoint ). Would it  be the Knight Enchanter, the Rift mage or the Necromancer perhaps?

I my self think the Knight Enchanter would be the strongest as it removes the weaknesses of a normal mage. Would love to hear what your thought on the matter is.

Arcane warrior

Knight enchanter is the most powerful in DAI but KE is pretty much the knock off Chantry version of Arcane warrior, all the stuff you can do in KE you can do better with Arcane warrior and longer...

Sounds like it would depend on the situation.

I would imagine that a powerful Rift mage would be murder around the fade and open rifts, to the point they could implode a castle.

Conversely, in close quarters, a Knight Enchanter would not only be able to command the battlefield with spells, but combine them with amazing close combat potential.

Then again, on the exalted plains or the like, a powerful necromancer might well raise an army to rival that of any nation...

Okay, sort of getting the templars' point of view now... :o

Yeah with the right conditions a mage can almost become like a demi god so it's easy to understand why some might fear them and try to suppress their potential.

Don't really know why they din't put the Arcane warrior in instead of the Knight enchanter kinda the same thing almost.=(

Arcane warriors have petty much died out and the way you find out about it in Orgins (trapped elf) can't really be repeated, Knight enchanter was an good way of getting it into game as no doubt the Chantry would have "borrowed" the magic and then altered it to suit there needs...

plus it's unlikely they would just say "yup we stole this magic from the ancient elves"  no they would change the name and claim they developed it themselves like they do in-game.

I'd guess Rift Mage. A mage who can tear open the Veil and manipulate reality is the freakiest thing a mage can do.

Necromancers (Ok, also freaky) can rely on spirits from the Veil... Personally, I'd rather use the power myself (Rift) instead of asking for help.

Knight Enchanters are my favorite, I imagine they'd have extremely strong defensive magic, but offensively I can't picture a Spirit Blade being as devastating as Rifts opening up and Spirit Bombs exploding. They're still the coolest.

In all DA? Blood Mages. As we've seen, with enough sacrifices, and blood, they can do the same sorts of things that anyone else can do. Manipulate the fade? It was these mages that were making attempts to chart the areas of the fade a thousand years ago. The ability to control the minds of kings, and queens, as well as rain destruction down upon their enemies using the blood of someone else as a fuel source.
